need opionions/facts about dealerships being responsable for cars breaking after just purchasing

i recently bought a used 2011 wrx sti, test drove it and everything and seemed perfect. everything was good until not even 2 days later when the engine seized due to low to no oil. the dealership claimed it was up to date on requirements. should the dealership have to pay to drop a new motor or rebuild the motor on the car, considering i just bought it a day and half before.
