Why do my lights sometimes not go off when locking doors with key fob

Intermittent problem. When driving with lights on, when I get out of car without turning off lights, they should go off when car is locked with key fob. They do not always go off, and may stay on for hours if I don't notice.

If this happens more than once, then you should have Audi look at the system. Just make sure you don't have your automatic headlights set to remain on for 30 seconds or longer. I believe this is a malfunction and needs to be corrected. Audi will be able to plug in to your computer in the car and determine the problem and cause.

Sometimes door ajar switches fail and can cause the lamps to stay on for an extended time. Usually a body computer is involved and will time out the lamps and shut them down.
