How do I remove a shift collar on a 1963 ford falcon

Remove the whole column from the car and dissasemble it on the work bench. Once you remove The steering wheel and turn signal switch you will see how the upper bowl is retained with bolts. The rest of it comes apart from the bottom with snap rings. What kind of a problem does it have?
