Whirling noise on acceleration

I have a 2013 Nissan Rogue, currently with 106,000 miles. 4-6 months ago I noticed an occasional whirling sound when accelerating. It began to happen more frequently and I started to pay more attention to it and determined this much... The sound occurs when accelerating between 2,500 and 3,000 RPMs (low and high speeds). That is the only time it happens.
I went to one mechanic who heard the noise, said he had no idea but thought it might be related to the transmission. The car runs beautifully no problems when shifting gears. On December 29, 2019 had oil change, fluids checked; power steering fluid added. The noise still persists. Took vehicle to Nissan dealer, today and let me say what a ridiculous and worthless appointment it was. Leaving me only more frustrated. After 4 hours of waiting, they said they could not hear the noise I described (whirling noise at 2500 to 3000 RPMs) but they found my hood was loose and the air intake hose disconnected. The fixed those two items. Next, I went for a ride in the car with dealership mechanic but unfortunately the noise could not be duplicated. As I said it does not happen every time. When I left dealership and was accelerating up the on ramp of the highway the car made the noise at 2500 RPMs. I am so completely frustrated with this. The car runs beautifully. I know enough about cars to know that you don't ignore a noise. The only other thing I can think to do is double check transmission fluid level. If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated.
