having battery/power/alternator problem

when i first encountered problem the car started and all dash lights, headlights, stereo flickered... gas pedal lacked and also power steering wasnt there. soon as i turned it off.. no power n wouldnt start. so i replaced battery. worked for one day. got really cold again n now its doing the same thing again...? any ideas what the issue is?
