Hey Guys

I'm thinking on buying an SUV and after giving it a thought i'm trying to decided between Lexus RX350 Vs Volvo XC60. I'm manly looking at 2009-2011 models.
most important are reliability, safety, fuel consumption, and than all others...

I would appreciate your opinion

Lexus will likely be FAR more reliable.

The XC60 T6 drives FAR better, though, if that is something important to you.

    '94 Pajero 2.8TD, '08 Charger R/T Daytona; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c, '21 WRX, '20 S90 T6, '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel, '97 Suzuki R Wagon, '92 325i, '97 Alto Works, '96 Opel Astra, TWO 4wd '97 Pajero Minis (1 turbo auto and 1 N/A manual); Wagoneer L on order; and in queue for Lucid Air Pure, Blazer EV, and Fisker Ocean.

There was something with the 2009 RX models that is a common failure. I'd stick with the 2010 - 2011 RX 350. Steer clear of the Volvo.

The one problem area with the RX that I know of was the VVTi oil line (all 3.5 V6 Toyotas had the issue). I'm not sure when that was rectified.

The advice above is solid. The Lexus will be more reliable in the long haul.

    Hey
Thanks to all of you, this is truly helpful.
From what i read Volvo will better fuel efficiency?!?
I get that the RX350 will be much more reliable, this is important info, since i guess low mileage on 2010\2011 is not something common. do you think that 2009 models may have more issues (accept this VVTi oil line)?

What is your budget? If you are targeting a low price and are concerned with reliability, it sounds as if you are tight on funds, in which case, why get a luxo SUV at all?

Just as an example, a 2010 RX350 with 100k miles is worth just about the same as a 50k-miles 2015 Equinox LT or Hyundai Tucson SE or Ford Escape, etc.
