Strange noise

Hi there, my 2005 Honda CRV Sport, thinks it's a cop car :-/ it keeps making intermittent siren sound. on a 2 km journey I may hear it 2-3 times . It's booked in with a mechanic but not until next week. Any idea's what it could be?
