No AM Radio Stations

2012 Chevy Sonic LS. Just had a new Pioneer Stereo installed, All is fine with FM, CD/DVD player, Bluetooth, AUX, USB. When I switch over to AM, I get absolutely nothing. Peculiar thing is, I wasn't getting any AM radio with the factory radio either. Any ideas?

    AM relies heavily on the car's antenna. Since this was an issue with both radios, a problem with the wire between the antenna mast and the radio is suspect.
