I replaced the distributor on my geo prizm after getting the P0340 code to replace the camshaft sensor. The check engine light came on again after about 2 months with the same code. What else could it be?

Clarify.... did you replace the camshaft sensor the first time? In the one '90s car I had where I suffered an issue that caused the same code, the source of the problem was the knock sensor. Once replaced, I had no further problems of that nature. Mine was not only a CEL though; I was also having no-start issues when the car was warm. Once I started it for the day, I basically just had to keep it running all the time if I was doing errands, getting fuel, etc.
