Lincoln Town Car (2005) 94K miles Catastrophic Electrical Failure

Bought used, 7 weeks ago the car runs great. Except for an intermittent electrical fault when all electrics / electronic shut down. I have to turn off the car and it will restart and carry until the next time. Any ideas what might cause this?
