I have a 05 Chevy impala that I got about a month ago and it was at 188,000 miles. Sometimes when I’m driving codes will pop up on the dash and the fuel gage will drop all the way down and then go back up and the codes will go away. It’s the battery code, the air bag , & brake. when it happens it still drives normal and it only does it for like 3 or so seconds. It only really does it when I’m driving longer distances and I have no problem turning the car on and nothing else concerning happens. I think it might be a problem with the alternator maybe?

The cars can set a lot of different codes. Has someone pulled codes from every module on the car? If so can you post the codes that have been pulled, and which module they were pulled from? As far as trying to suggest any potential source of the failure, doing that is more likely to be wrong than right. With the code information an area of concern can be identified, but it will still require testing, while the problem is occurring, in order to prove what is happening.
