Thinking of getting a new Subaru? Great choice as Subaru makes some of the most fun, practical, economical and long lasting cars in the world! They claim that over 90% of the cars sold in the last 10 years are still on the road. This says a lot about them! Subaru is one of the most reliable Japanese manufacturers out there. Their cars last a long time, given that it's been taken care of mechanically and overall upkeep. For the longest time Subaru played it safe when it comes to design, looks, features and not to mention technology. But lately, to keep up with the rest of the world, Subaru had to step up its game with new design and looks and features to include safety technologies.
Cars nowadays have more electronics than ever before. Even comparing them to 3-4 year old cars, there are now 3 times if not 4 times as many electronics and safety features. This makes the car like a cell phone: both useful, fun, functional and expensive to repair. While the factory warranties are good, it's good to consider additional extended warranties nowadays, especially since an average Subaru ownership is about 8 years.
