Car Shopping is Depressing!

This is supposed to be fun right? You finally decide to get a certified used or new SUV. I've been hanging onto my 14 year old Honda with 231,000 miles that has given me no trouble. Started looking at Honda and Toyota SUVs, reading reviews incessantly and am surprised at what I find. New CRVs, oil dilution, bad heater and inadequate AC for hot climates, also has CVT. Honda Pilot, silly looking dash instruments, no shift knob, safety features that over-react cause panic automatic braking and laggy infotainment and a recall for static and shifting complaints with new 9 speed transmission. Highlander 2019 3rd Gen, class action for 8 speed transmission, shifting problems, delays in acceleration, ancient infotainment, no Apple car play, chronic oil leaks in V6 and wind noise, leaks. Looked at Mazda CX-9, no touch screen, funny dial for inputs and somewhat small for mid sized. New RAV4 is getting savaged for being very slow and loud and transmission jerky shifting. I am tempted to find a low mile 14 year old Honda!
2007 Honda CRV EX 231,000 miles
2013 Honda CRV EX-L 40,000 miles
Need a new car.

A lot of "problems" are not noticed by the majority of owners. As an example, what is wrong with a CVT Transmission? No shift knob? Let's see....In our garage sit side by side a 2016 CRV EXL and a 2020 CRV EX. Both have been flawless. Problems do pop up but the people who do have problems tend to be very vocal about it and I really believe they get over amplified. RAV-4's are great cars too! " Silly looking dash instruments" According to who? The person who wrote the article? Don't be scared, the water's fine!
