Looking for crossover SUV in $15,000 range. Recommendations ?

I'm looking for a lower mileage (Under 60,000 ideally) used crossover class for $15000-$16,000. I'm currently looking at the 2017 Ford Escape and the 2018 Jeep Renegade or Jeep Compass. A friend suggested the Jeeps may not be a great idea due to their Fiat parts. What would ya'all recommend i look at? I don't know much about cars so I'm feeling a bit lost here. Thanks in advance.

Tough call. The Escape is a good choice. If AWD just make sure the transfer case fluid was changed regularly. The criticism of the Jeep seem valid.
