Jeep liberty issues when ideling

My jeep has 127000 miles on it and gets driven about once every week, or about 400 miles a month. I was driving it recently when I came to a stop at a red light and the engine sputtered out. The car would not turn over when I tried to restart it. The car would stay on if i put my foot on the gas, but would shut down if i removed it. I had it towed to a nearby mechanic shop. I recently had the oil , fluids, and front brakes changed. The car did not give any codes. What do you think?
