This is true as regards NEMA 14-50R outlets intended for electric kitchen ranges. They commonly are not unplugged and plugged for years. Heavy-duty commercial-industrial-rv park grade 14-50R outlets designed for frequent plugging-unplugging are much more expensive - like $17 instead of $8. RV park plug-ins should be expected to serve daily plug-in and unplugging. Just splurge an extra $8-9.

    great article, but one point on the 11kw example. if the evse is a 48amp model, the circuit should be a 60amp circuit. the breaker and wiring has to be 25% greater than the charger. put in the way of the code, the circuit can have a continuous load of upto 80% of the breaker rating.
