2009 Ford Flex AC problems

Please talk to me like I am 5 years old...my Flex AC will only cool when the car is in motion. Fan is operating properly and the freon levels are fine. It's occasionally started overheating as well.

I plan to do a full coolant flush this weekend (coolant recommendations?).

I'd love some troubleshooting tips please!
