Audi Q5 vs BMW X3 vs Hyundai Tucson?
Now I know this isn't a standard comparison, but hear me out.
I'm a new father looking for a new small SUV as our only car. It'll be replacing an aging Acura TL, hopefully with more modern creature comforts and an easier time loading a car seat/stroller.
The biggest factors in choosing a new car are:
- NVH - ideally it has adaptive or air suspension to soak up potholes
- Small footprint - my wife will also drive the car and prefers something easy to maneuver within town
- Fun to drive - when I drive it, would like something that's at least somewhat responsive
- Cost - I'm flexible on cost, but drive less than 5k miles a year so don't want to blow the bank
I'm considering the Audi Q5 55e, BMW X3 M40i, Genesis GV70, and the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid.
A few questions:
- The Hyundai looks to have the most interior space while having the smallest footprint. Is this accurate, and is it due to the FWD drive train? Can anyone confirm this is the case in real world comparison?
- I know the car market is crazy, but in looking at lease deals, it's about 900/mo for the X3, 700/mo for the Q5, and 550/mo for the Tucson. Are there any deals or specials on these vehicles that may help the lease price? I'm thinking Audi would be the most discounted since the other 3 are new or refreshed.
- Which of the vehicles has the best traffic jam assist (eg lane keep, adaptive cruise control, etc.)? I've heard great things about the Hyundai system, and believe BMW is also good?
- The Hyundai being a non-luxury car seems to be the most loaded, whereas all of the features come as options on the other 3. Are there any major features not available on the Hyundai?
- I'm assuming the NVH in the Audi and Genesis would be better than the X3 and the Hyundai. I'm not sure if there's a place that tests ride harshness and sound in the cabin, especially at highway speeds.
Thanks for all information, and would appreciate anything else I haven't considered.
