Heater is truly bizarre. My mechanic is at a loss

I have a 2015 Expedition platinum. 118,000 miles. Climate is controlled on touch screen and physical buttons on dash. Both screen and dash work however...when I push the - or + button to increase or decrease the blowing intensity. It does nothing to the blower BUT works the heated seats. Any ideas? Hard restart?
