2018 Nissan Altima SL 2.5 - Possible Airflow Issues

Hi everyone, thanks for reading my post. My 2018 Nissan Altima SL 2.5 became extremely sluggish when I turned the car on, and put it in drive, after backing out of my parking space. Everything turned on, I got no waring lights/messages, but the car wouldn't accelerate. I turned off the AC gave the car a few seconds at idle, and it drove after that, but still felt a little sluggish, like the engine was struggling to breathe. Did a little googling and my cheapest and easiest option looked like swapping a clogged air filter. When I opened the box that contains the filter, there were several leaves and dead dragonflies on the intake side, and stuck in the filter itself. Im going to grab a new filter, but I have two questions 1) can i stick a shop vac hose in the box that has the air filter in it, and see if I can suck out any additional debris that might be down there? and 2) if the filter doesn't solve the problem, where should I start looking next? Thanks so much!
