Yeah, worst car ever. Great to drive, awful to live with. The climate control resets to "auto" every time i restart the car, I alwlays seem to hit the "Rear" selector on the windows when trying to roll them down without looking, then i spend the next two minutes with my eyes off the road trying to select the right switch, to get the rear to roll up, and the front to roll down. The only "Knob" in the car is on the power mirrors, and it only selects the mirrors about half the time. Volume controls completely suck, since they are "touch". Half of the "touch" buttons on the dash are not backlit, so they disappear after dark. The touchscreen display auto disables if you have taken your eyes off the road to mess with it for a certain amount of time, but because there are no buttons, you have to take your eyes off the road for a LONG time to make any adjustments. The trip data is almost completely worthless. What does "-0.9mi/kw" mean? How about just showing actual KW produced/consumed? The list goes on, seemingly forever, and I've owned the car for a day. The wheels accroding to one site weigh a range destroying 35lbs... Go to the gym and try twirling a 35lb weight and see what happens. The 2021 ID4 had a majority of its parts content originating from the chinese communist party. My 22 was 90% from Russia supporting Germany. Not sure what's better, but at least i'm supporting china less with a '22. Rear leg room is very good for being a crossover. Would I recommend this car to a friend? Yes, if you're current car is a 90's honda or toyota. You'll be blown away by the driving dynamics, quiet cabin, and comfortable ride. If they're coming from a newer mid-level crossover, the user interface is going to destroy the driving experience. The parking sensors are infuriating as the author mentioned. Great writeup... I happened upon the article as i was looking for ways to disable the myriad of terrible built-in features.

Holy Moly! I rented a Pacifica and did not like (strongly) the default "on" heaters for the seat and steering wheel whenever the ambient temperature fell below a certain threshold. Turning off the heaters required a lot of searching in the menu. I thought that was bad! The stuff revealed in this article makes the Pacifica look like a piece o'cake. I can really see why people grow to hate certain modern vehicle technology.
