Mode door actuator

I have an issue with the HVAC.... air will not stop blowing to the floor no matter what setting I chose. I understand it is the mode door actuator that needs to be replaced but I'm sure a chevy dealership will charge an arm and a leg to replace it. I'm at the point now that I just wanna get in there and manually close the door for the summertime to keep the A/C from blowing to the floor. Anybody have an idea how to get to it??? I don't care about replacing the mode door actuator, just wanna manually close the mode door.

You should get actual estimates for the repair, instead of just fearing the worst. The mode door actuator is a relatively minor repair. In fact, trying to just remove it to make the system manually adjustable would have you at the halfway point of the replacement.
