I went to so many dealers. They all wanted 495. They finally starting coming down. The price of the car was ~$35,500.
After spending countless hours dealing with dealers who blatantly lie about pricing do your homework and shop around. $495 in the NY area is too much and they'll tell you its a great price as it's ~$40 less than MSRP pricing.
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to help.
Trying to get help with estimating fair price and lease monthly payment for AWD Grand Touring CX-9. MSRP is $40,445.
I am looking for a 36 month lease with 15K miles per year.
If somebody can get me some help with what the selling price should be as well as money factor and residual value that will be of a great help
Thanks
MM
I believe that going with 12,000 miles per year adds 1% and 10,000 miles per year adds 2% to this vehicle's residuals.
The bank that Mazda uses as its captive finance company sets the residual values. You are free to lease through a different bank, but if you do you will lose the benefit of the money factor support that Mazda is providing through its captive finance company.

I am not intimately familiar with what the market is like for the '11 CX-9 right now, but if I was in the market for one I personally would shoot for a selling price of $500 to $1,000 over invoice (preferably closer to the lower end) minus the $1,750 cash incentive that Mazda is currently providing on leases of this truck.

36 months / 10k miles per year / ZERO down
for $451/month including taxes
Thank you for this great service!
When negotiating your deal on this truck, make sure to take advantage of the $1,750 cash incentive that is currently available on leases of it.

Regarding the residual, I assume a 12,000 mile residual is 48% ?
Thank you!
I'm not 100% positive, but I believe that Mazda only adds 1% for leases with only 12,000 miles per year.

GT AWD w/ moonroof-bose, navigation, and power liftgate at an MSRP of 39650. Cap cost of 35,641. Drive off was 0, covered by about 2 grand in rebates which covered first month, DMV, acquisition fee and a minor cap reduction. 36 months at 15K per year - payments came out to 548, including CA tax.
Seems like a great car so far with a good third row and lots of features for the money.

You can use the formula that is outlined in the following article to work up a payment, Calculate Your Own Lease Payment.
Mazda's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2011 CX-9 Sport FWD with 15,000 miles per year are .00044 and 45%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

Invoice #33,719
Rebates $2,150
(Residual 50%??)
(Calculation: 33,719-2150=31,569-15650=15919/42 = $379 (pure payment with no interest added yet)
To figure the total monthly paymnet, does anyone know what the money factor is for this car/lease? I assume we would add this number on top of the #379 to get the total montly payment.
How much should we put down (for taxes, fees, title, etc). One delership wants to $3,800 down to get us to $370. The other dealership has us at approximately $374 with $3,800 down.
Let us know how this compares to the three other postings listed here with prices they paid:
1) $31, 700 plus $795 delivery plus documents and tax) for a total of #35,500; 2) $31,250 plus title/taxes/fees and 3) $31,500 plus title/taxes/fees. TTL is approximalely $2000)
It says don't pay anything over $34,000 which would be a rip off according to other postings?
Thanks let me know today since we are looking to lock our lease in the next 3 days. Have to turn in our Nissan.
2011 CX-9 Grand Touring + moonroof/bose, navigation, power liftgate
* residual @ 10K = 48%
* money factor = 0.00094
The residual seems reasonable, but the money factor seems a bit high. Thoughts?
Thanks.
The numbers for an otherwise identical 39-month lease are .00102 and 54%.

I was offered 46% and 0.00055, but the residual seems low to me...

The residual value for a lease with only 12,000 miles per year would be 1% higher.

Thank you for all this incredibly helpful information.
Can you provide the mf and residual on a 2012 CX-9 GT AWD? 36 months, 12k miles/yr? And the same info for a 2012 CX-9 Touring AWD?
I am comparing as I prepare to lease later this month.
Thank you

For the CX-9 GT AWD with Navigation, etc. -fully loaded- (which I was looking to buy), the best price I got was 35,500ish. Ended up with a Subaru Outback - the dealer was very upfront there and said "We just dont have good lease deals with this car right now" - so I ended up buying at 0% interest. Surprisingly, the fit and finish of the CX-9 was not as good as the subaru and is definitely as good as MB.
2012 cx-9 AWD Touring with moonroof Bose and auto tailgate package for $600 out of pocket including first month and $444/month for 36 months and 12000 miles per year. The car lists for over $36000. The dealer was great and did not try and sell me any packages or pull any bait and switch tactics
Here are the details:
sticker - $33,500
36 months / 12k year
$550 out of pocket including first month
$390 / month includes tax (9%)
Thanks for the info!
