    Nice. Yeah, those tomatoes will really be something this year.

    My dad used to do a pretty amazing garden.

    Same here, but the cool thing is you don't have to drive in or to the city, you can public transpo it but in the burbs you would have to drive to the train station. In my area it was pretty quiet, which I didn't mind at all, think people were just wiped - plus it rained all day Saturday and some on Sunday.

    Like Lemko I just stayed home and worked around the house and in the yard - no garden though.

    $3.73 at the Sheetz chain of stores in central PA
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    Regular is $4.19 (and $4.29 at one spot). Diesel is $4.09 everywhere I noticed.

    Still have about 50 miles left on the current tank before I have to scratch up another $75 to fill up the van.

    for premium at a Gulf station near Harrisburg PA. I filled up the Park Ave last night, before heading home from attending the Ford show in nearby Carlisle. I had plenty enough gas to make it home, but that's still about 25-30 cents cheaper than back here at home, so I figured I'd take advantage.

    I have a feeling it was lying, but according to the trip computer, I averaged 30.4 mpg on the way up, and 31.7 on the way home! I was driving mainly flow-of-traffic, varying from 65-75, occasionally hitting 80.

    I think that's one of the best readings I've gotten from the car's trip computer. This time around, I kept the sunroof closed, windows rolled up, and just used the vent (not hot enough for a/c). I wonder if having the car completely closed up like that helped fuel economy a bit?

    $4.13 for Chevron premium today, finally we lost that dime.

    Do I have a Monday surprise waiting?? :shades:

    Still $3.73 yesterday, but one station that has seemed to lag and held out for a couple of days at $3.79 dropped the 6 cents at the end of the day. Could be a lower price around this morning, we'll see.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    Dropped a dime from $4.19 to $4.09 overnight.

    Diesel fell a couple of cents the other day to $4.07.
  • gagricegagrice Member Posts: 31,450
    We filled the Lexus yesterday at Costco. Premium was $3.999. RUG at $3.79. Our local Shell down from $4.32 to $4.09 for regular.

    That's the liberals way of thanking the voters in the slums...My gas purchase at Shell in Venice, FLa after discount was $3.51 for mid-grade..charged on my magic credit card..Next tank will be premium..

    In reading a recent Motor Trend testing of 8 C-segment cars, overall MPG for 203 miles which 60 miles was run @80mph w/a/c in 90+ weather, my calculated MPG was 22.1 versus the M/T mag testing of the Chevy Cruze was 23.8..The Cruze is a hoax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    was for $4.12. Could have went another day but didn't want to chance an increase.

    This week has been weird (like the weather), started off with stations being $4.26 range, then $4.19 on down to $4.05 at a few places (one Shell & the two Speedways) but then they went back up to $4.20 :confuse: Add in construction everywhere and TGIF :)

    We have a couple of station at convenience stores here that run promotions. One charges 10 cents off the going rate if you pay cash. The reasons that seem to make sense why they're doing it... first, bring in business, get people into the store with cash in hand. Second, at $3.73, the roughly 3.5% they have to pay to take charge cards puts them slightly ahead of where they'd be on a charge purchase. (Have to get down in the $2.70 range for this not to make sense to do)

    Another place is running rush hour specials. From 6AM to 9AM and 3PM to 5PM they lower the price by 5 cents.

    Went by an Indian casino gas station with gas for $3.78. Usually they aren't any different from anyone else. Too bad I didn't need any. Still $4.03 in town.
  • PF_FlyerPF_Flyer Member Posts: 9,372
    Down to $3.69 here in central PA. Who knows what a Monday morning will bring??? ;)
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    Regular was $3.91 this morning, down 12 cents. And that was at the station that's usually a bit higher than where I buy gas.
  • fezofezo Member Posts: 10,386
    $3.61 in town.

    I've seen as low as $3.57 in nearby places.

    We drove over to Coronado Island for a bite of lunch today. Decided to take the scenic route back down the Silver Strand. At the South end is an ARCO station selling RUG for $3.67 per gallon. Cheapest gas price in San Diego County.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    Sunoco at Rhawn and Verree in NE Philly:

    RUG =$3.61
    Plus = $3.71
    Ultra = $3.81

    the past couple days. Filled up this morning for $3.90 at a Shell on my work route no less. This station competes with two Speedways, one directly across the road and another approx. 1/2 mile down - this one used to be a Gas City. They're one of the few stations selling E85, at least when they were Gas City - not sure if that will continue now that they're Speedway.

    My usual place was at $3.97 when I drove past there the other day to go to Lowes for project supplies. And the other stations on my route are still in the $3.99 range.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    My usual station was down two cents overnight to $3.89. Went tooling around the countryside this morning and prices were running between $4.05 to $3.69 for regular.

    Must be the competition from the nearby Mexicans....

    During the 2008 oil price run up, TJ gas was more expensive than here in San Diego. The Mexican that worked in my yard lives down there and drove across each day. He would fill up on this side of the border. Now I am not sure about gas. I know there are stories of contractors going down with large tanks to get cheaper diesel. I am sure it is not ULSD. So it will be more polluting. But when the state over taxes a product people find ways around it.

    Through the week gas prices kept dropping into the 3.50s in the Dayton area.

    Left on Friday for Michigan. Skipped stopping at a pair of Shell stations about 50 miles form home to fill up. They are usually low. Hadn't check at daytongasprices.com before leaving. Decided to get gas in Toledo at a Shell station.

    Son pulled into the Shell station in Toledo and the sign said $3.29. Can you believe that: $3.29. I almost lost control I was so surprised.

    We stopped at the same station on the return drive Saturday. It was $3.27. The BP and others at that exit were $3.22 and $3.20.

    How could the gas companies miss this opportunity on a mild Holiday for travel for Fathers Day. They always raise the prices when they know people feel a compulsion to travel!

    $3.65 here in State College, and using the "rush hour discount" I paid $3.60 this morning.

    Local car dealer is running a protion here too... buy a used car in the next 4 day and pay only 99 cents per gallon... it's either until 2012 or until the end of 2012... only heard the radio ad once. Buy a car anyone?? ;)
  • explorerx4explorerx4 Member Posts: 20,723
    My local station is at 3.895 cash price and 6 cents more for credit.
    Not the lowest price you can pay.

    The stations on my route which were $3.90 decreased to $3.86 but the competing Shell and Mobil by home increased to $3.96. Guess they didn't get enough Father's Day drivers.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
    Supply and demand, free markets, capitalism! No shenanigans, no way! :shades:

    I have noticed in my area the decreases stopped some time ago. Chevron premium stuck around $4.10-4.15.

    Paid $3.49 in NE PA... down to $3.59 in State College
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
    Paid $4.05 or something for Chevron premium today - slowly going down still, a few cents a week.

    One station has gone to $3.49 here in Happy Valley
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    was for $3.74 at the same Shell I filled up at last time, a decrease of 16 cents. Looking at my records this is 90 cents more than I paid last year on June 28th.

    The stations by home decreased to $3.86 and the other stations on the route are holding at the same price.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    Sunoco and Rhawn and Verree:

    RUG = $3.57
    Plus = $3.67
    Ultra = $3.77

    Still too high IMO.
  • fezofezo Member Posts: 10,386
    $3.53 Sunoco at the Jersey shore.

    I was surprised on the trip down - Delaware gas is pricier than Jersey (though not by much) but Maryland and especially Virginia were cheaper.

    The $3.74 stations are now $3.90.

    The other $3.83 ~ $3.86 stations are now $3.90

    There is a lone wolf which has stayed at $3.80
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    Most stations are now $3.96 with one Shell at $4 (well, $3.999). Not sure if / when prices will decrease again...
