Paid 1.44 for 87 at a Hess Station in Coral Springs Florida today. The price has stayed steady for about a week now. Prices do seem lower out west though, makes one think. What's up G W?
$1.67 for 87 at Chevron in my neighborhood outside of San Francisco, $1.40 at Costco... But yesterday I had to get gas IN San Francisco, and it was $1.87 for 87. I didn't even dare look at what premium cost there!
Seen on an actual street intersection (Sorry, I forget where.. maybe Elmhurst, IL) Shell - 1.599 - 1.799 Amoco,Mobile- 1.559 - 1.759 Citgo - 1.519 - 1.719
Fuel is dropping here... We are seeing 123.9 reg. ....132.9 at the mid's ...and the super, for the super star's ....149.9 ... so have to think....by the time Spring show's up it will be back up tp 1.90 at the Marina's.
My last two tanks for 92 were 1.99 and 1.95. 89 is 10c less. Around here you have to pull down your pants and bend over at the gas pump (bring lots of vaseline!)
OPEC announced a 4% reduction in supply this morning. "Experts" disagree on the effects, some saying up to $.30/gal at the pump, some saying essentially no increase (so much for experts!) Let's see the effects in the next month or so.
Central Massachusetts, best prices around my area:
Honolulu prices were pretty stable the past few months. Costco, where cash in no good (must be Costco member and use credit card), 87 is 1.829, 92 is 1.979, both down 0.01. No "plus" (89) available. At other places, "plus" runs 0.08 - 0.10 above regular.
Everyone else is over $2.00 for premium (2.029 to 2.129). Neighbor island rural areas go over 2.30 for premium. The recent reduction was about 0.02 max.
Most of the stations running $1.29 for regular around here. The wife works in Altoona and most of th etime it seems to run about 4-5 cents cheaper there... PF Flyer Host Pickups & News and Views Message Boards
I just returned from a 6000 mile trip to the southwest from Ohio. The lowest regular gas price was in Oklahoma City at $1.199 and the highest was in Williams,AZ at $1.869.
Pitman, NJ 1.22.9/ gal. reg. unleaded Glassboro, NJ 1.23.9 " " Vineland, Nj 1.25.9 " " When I drove from Florida to NJ last week...lowest price was Georgia...1.12.9/gal.
I go to work on the train, pass a Thorntons, 1.32.
I come back home, 1.52!!!!!
So, I decide to fill up somewhere -- before this price-hike catches on.
Mobil, 1.47, Meijer 1.56!
Finally, I make it to a local Citgo at 1.41. Good.
Well, I was the last person to get gas at that price! AS I'M FILLING UP, they're raising the price to 1.47! I locked in at 1.41, but as soon as I put the nozzle back, all the prices were ending in '7'.
WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!???!?!! I am serious! If anyone has the slightest insight, let me in on it!
Last night my friend gassed up with PREMIUM for 1.49!

Oh yeah... my location... Aurora, IL USA (DuPage County)
That's about a nickel a gallon cheaper than March 17 when OPEC slowed production. So far so good. Do you suppose Illinois isn't seeing the predicted $.30 increase first (scratching head qiizically)?
Bellevue, WA Union 76 Regular Self serve 1.699 Olympia, WA Chevron Regular Self serve 1.439 Longview, WA Chevron Regular Self serve 1.539 Woodland, WA Safeway Regular Self serve 1.439 Cosco sells gas as does Safeway, but brand is not known. Only in America, spend $40,000 for a car & put in unknown brand or quality of fuel to save a couple of bucks per tank.
Having just returned from the fabulous Edmunds Host conference in LA (Thanks Sylvia, Melissa, Dana, Tara & Co!!!) I've run into a variety of unleaded regular prices.
Santa Monica $1.57 Near LAX $1.71
and back home State College, PA $1.39

Safeway (the supermarket) sells gas? Not here, but Costco reduced their prices by $0.02 recently. Premium is now $1.959. Others have also inched down, with the lowest at $2.019.
A new Tesoro opened a few weeks ago with a five-day special: all grades for $1.839. Long lines, especially by taxis and limos.
But I do stay away from some brands. I'm not sure if I can mention them here so I won't.
Shell is usually most expensive. Mobil and Amoco are neck-n-neck in the middle. Meijer, Marathon and Citgo are in my price range (lowest). The Speedway in town doesn't have Pay-at-the-Pump so that's why I don't pay much attention to them.
And the lower ones I've heard bad stories about rusted tanks, fuel lines, etc., indicitave of water or just plain bad fuel.
Safeway is the parent of a local chain here in IL named Dominick's. I saw one station with the Dominick's name ready to go in the Dominick's parking lot. I thought it odd as well. I hope I can use my Saver's Card!

1.469 at Meijer, 1.479 at Citgo, 1.539 at Mobil, 1.599 at Shell. See!
Since the original intent of this discussion is strictly to report fuel prices, I've added a new discussion for the loyalty debate - click here to pop in there: Are you loyal to any brand of fuel?
That's about the best way I know of to describe price fluxuation around here. Nothing happening.
The range is still $1.19 to $1.24 for regular...maybe there is something coming down the pipe from the north. Wish it was a price decrease to help the economy.
Surely I must have more time than others here. Or I'm just fed up and notice the prices daily. Or I'm just lucky to live where the price changes according to the weather forecast.
Another 4 cents today at the Mobil...
1.619, 1.719 and 1.819.
The prices change as often as I change my clothes! Who knows... maybe more often.
where were we... I took a couple days off from posting since it's not good to post angry...
1.67, 1.77, 1.87 at Shell. 1.66, 1.77, 1.87 at Mobil. 1.59, 1.69, 1.79 at Citgo. 1.53, 1.63, 1.73 at Meijer.
Chicago, with higher Cook County and a local City tax: 1.79, 1.89, 1.99 at Mobil and Shell.
News reports are that the incredible price increase are due to 'unexpected demand' and the summer season. Also in the MidWest, the EPA figureheads thought it would be nice to implement some sort of re-reformulated gasahol which gets crummier mileage but burns cleaner. I don't know... I'm more a fan of burning less resources. Supposedly it's also more difficult to manufacture. Mandatory to be in the ground by June 1. It's not certain if the stations with raised prices even have the new gas, so they may just be making the 25c/gal profit on the consumer.
Well, the provincial govt. announced this morning that it will impliment Gas Price Regulation by May 24th ... and by this afternoon gas was up by 4.0 cents/litre to 84.9 cents Cdn. for one litre of fuel @#$%*!! For our American friends, $0.849 Cdn = $0.546 US and 1.0 US Gal. = 3.78541 litres ... so, 3.78 x $0.546 US = $2.07 US ($3.22 Cdn.) per US Gallon in St. John's, Nfld ... the highest price of any major Canadian city ... For our British & Canadian friends 1.0 Imperial Gallon = 4.54609 litres ... 4.546 x $0.849 = $3.86 Cdn ($2.48 US) per Imp. Gal.
Last Saturday, based on mykems and other posters, I rushed all of our vehicles over to the nearest station. Price was $1.22 (up three cents). Filled every cubic centimeter of tank space at that price. I wish that I could have taken 500 gallons home with me.
Yesterday (wednesday), price had rocketed to $1.38! Who knows what today will bring....?
Recently, it happens this way every year. Around the first half of April prices "spike" upwards!

Refiners also report gasoline stockpiles are lower than last year's.
