Help with low engine power

Hello there,

It's been bitterly cold(temps near -20 below zero) and recently my battery died. I was able to get it jump started okay but now when I drive it, I am experiencing low or reduced engine power. When I press on the gas pedal, the car will go forward but it go to a high rpm before shifting normally. Is this normal because it's been so cold? Also at the time when I drove it, I hadn't driven it in a couple days. Thank you so much for your time.

High shift RPM during very cold operation is a common strategy and it helps to get the engine and catalysts up to operating temperature quicker.
