Recommendation for Battery Maintainer

I recently got a backup car I will not be using often. I have read reviews of battery maintainers and read that they frequently fail, or improperly keep charging continuously, destroying the battery. Does anyone have experience with a brand that has worked well for them? Thanks!

I have a Battery Tender Plus that was replaced four times throughout its ten year warranty, so I can definitely relate to the "frequently fail" thing, but it's never overcharged my battery. I'd probably go with a CTek, they seem to be well regarded.

I really like the Duracell DRMC4A. I have a few of these, and one is about seven years old now. It works very well to maintain and to charge, and will typically provide a full charge, even on large batteries, in about 12-18 hours. These can be used via clamps for temporary applications or with installed ringlets for more permanent applications.

I bought the cheapest ones I could find at Walmart. About $12 each. Batteries on both cars seem fine. None went dead or blew up.

CTEK MXS 5.0. I've used it on my Club Sport for several years.
