CLICKING SOUND ON LHS OF FRONT TRANSMISSION

I have a 2006 RAV4 4 cylinder 5 SPEED MANUAL.
In the last week or so Ive noticed a clicking noise which seems to coming from the LHS of transmission.
It makes the noise when front wheel are turning "click click click". The clicking sound gets faster as the front wheels are turning.
It happens going foreward & in reverse.
It doesn't make the noise coasting in neutral.
Gear changes seem fine.
If I rotate the front LHS or RHS wheel manually the clicking sound is evident.
Its like something in the transmission is grabbing for a sec & then lets go?
Seems to be a very faint rocking of the motor when it clicks...
COULD ANYONE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION OF WHAT IS CAUSING IT?
Ive only has the car for a month!
