I called the 800 number and e-mail them also to determine if an infiniti FX Diesel was in the making. They informed NO! But are they thinking about? Does anyone know.
I guess I will be the one to start the discussion. The all new FX37 which replaces the FX35 is slated to make it's debut at the 2008 Geneva auto show in March.
I'm dying for some new information on this vehicle. We get spy shots on everything but not this one?
Love the current model and anxious to see what Infiniti comes up with. Hope they dont mess it up, but if it's simply a bigger version of the new EX, I will be happy.
As the present owner of an 04 FX45 with tech package, I have been anxiously awaiting the next FX. This past spring I was invited to an Infiniti event where I was asked to give opinions. There were specs on a new FX50 with the car having 390 HP. There were no pictures or mock ups of what the new body would look like. I still haven't seen anything official on the FX50, but I hope they build it. I am upset that the new EX35 with its 297 hp 6 cyl is faster than my FX45 with 315 hp. The FX45, being a more expensive car, and with Infiniti being all about performance, should always be faster than the cheaper EX.
"The new V8 delivers 369 pound-feet of torque and is linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control, downshift rev-matching and solid magnesium paddle shifters."
My first thought was that this was a 'preview' of the M50 for 2008 - and that an M50 would be available later this Calendar Year...
With the competition where it is for the M45, I would not think Infiniti could wait another year before such an upgrade to the engine \ trans.
But I could be wrong. ( Ask my ex-wife ) - Ray Hoping, for the sake of Infiniti sales, that I am not wrong, this time...
I have a 2005 FX35 with a lease ending in Sept.08. It is my 4th Infiniti and the best and most pleasurable vehicle I have ever had. The only 2 drawbacks are the limited luggage capacity and poor fuel economy. I love the styling.
Just saw the new FX37 at the NY auto show a couple of weeks ago and while the styling is not revolutionary like the original it is certainly evolutionary. The EX on the other hand did not do anything for me. Very small inside and kind of a hatchback look.
Decisions, decisions. With the price of gas approaching $4.00 I'm actually considering hybrids. Maybe by September gas will be $2.50 again LOL.

- 39 month lease due 12/1/2008
- only 22K miles driven/28K miles left on lease
I went to the LA Car show yesterday.
Impressions:
- EX35 has got a great tech package (esp. top view "virtual" camera)
- not impressed with rear styling with EX
I hope that the 2009 FX37/50 is NOT a bigger version of the EX; I hope we see subtle styling evolution changes - from that remarkable 2003 design.
