service engine light and service 4x4 light are always flashing on and staying on 90% of the time. the dealer says it is a faulty electronic card issue. I now have the red brake light and ABS light coming on but not staying on. is this a Suburban issue that others are having. the vehicle has 100K miles and i can't see any brake problems. the pads are new and fluid is fine.

Hey...my 2001 4x4 has had the Brake Light and ABS light on almost all the time now for about 3 months now. It recently turned 90K miles and never seems to have any problems associated with either light. They will occassionally turn off for a brief period but not for long and they r right back on. Also just started doing something else weird. When I move the steering column up or down when I am driving down the road, the auto locks suddenly unlock all the doors and then lock them back again in 15 seconds...weird!

the service lights on my 2001 1500 4x4 are always coming on. the service 4x4 light is on most of the time. I originally had this checked and since the light was not on when i went to the dealer ( typical) they had no results to report. the service engine light use to come on all the time now it is the service 4x4 light.

i was concerned when the abs and brake light came on especially on the recent road trip i took ( 2000 miles) where both lights were on the first 1000 miles then off for the second 1000.

oh well i think GM was building less than solid vehicles in 2000-2001 and the service lights are an electronic failure on their part.

My ABS and brake lights come on intermittently ever since I brought my 2001 2500 4x4 in to the dealer for a front-end brake job. When I brought it back to them they rechecked the brakes and said that the brakes are working just fine and that it is a malfunction with the computer that controls the brakes. They mentioned that when the ABS light is on your ABS system is disabled.
