So I guess I'll get some of the Z stuff for my new TL. Now if I can just remember where I wrote down the name and phone number of the DC rep...
Look for some information on the resolution of these frustrations - for those of us who have been experiencing them - by early next week.

I used to use a 6' step ladder until one day when I was off the ladder and a gust of wind blew it over. I watched it arc down towards my Accord and it just missed!! Whew!! Then it bounced up and dented the lower door panel. OOOOHHHH!!
Oh well, you live and learn.
Must have been a heck of a windy day for that to happen.
Do DC Z-fans ever have gatherings in a corporate garage or some other large, protected and heated space, to wash and apply Z stuff together?
A polymer party!
Trust me, I felt like an idiot.
No the first part was meant as a joke. I am sorry if it wasn't viewed that way.

All: Can I, at least, use Z6 in this cold climate?
Even I am not that crazy.
Of course you can use the Z-6 in this weather. You knew that. Like joebob6 said- don't let it freeze. Do it in the sun- whenever that comes out! Right now it's snowing in So. CT- no Zaino today! ;-))

fastdriver: Its snowing here in NYC. And I've got to drive up to Otis, MA this afternoon. We'll see if Z6 on the windshield holds up to snow. I'll take Route 8 through CT.
How'd the Z-6 stand up?

To catch up, what worked for me when they fixed my ID was to keep in mind that the problem began on 11/20. If you sort the topic list by "last post" (click on that header), it is easy to see what topics have new posts - that you may or may not have missed - since the problem began.
If you want to catch up with a particular topic, just go to it and use the "scroll up 20 responses" choice just under the topic title until you find posts on or before 11/20.
This whole situation has been a huge pain, believe me, I know!
Good luck. Let me know if I can help any further - you know you can always email me!

I did send Karen a message to add me to the list, but I thought that it was ONLY to fix M&E. Then, when I read pat455's message in the host section and realized that ALL my placemarks would be wiped out, I sent Karen another message and told her to take my name off the list. I didn't want to have to input all my placemarks again with the NEW board coming soon. Depending on what it's like, I may not be inputing anything else in Edmunds- probably much to the delight of many! ;-))
I can still view this topic with IE and post, so there's no problem. With my DSL, things move quickly anyway.
fastdriver
Actually, all my topics came through intact. All I had to do was read back on anything that wasn't the last post, and even then I think only M&R was affected.
For me it was a non-event, and now I can get to this topic with no troubles.
I know you think differently, but if I were you I'd copy my placemark page, ask for the fix, and then just simply put back any placemarks that I lost.
If you don't do this, you will never be able to see topics numbered above #1979 (I think? I forget the number now) in this conference. And when we again make the effort to move to new software, I don't know whether your problem will transfer or not.
FWIW, this is just my humble opinion. Good luck either way.

I concur with Gary; it was a non-event. And to me, that's a good thing.

Anyway, if you haven't done that yet it might not be too late. Send your userid to karen@edmunds.com and she'll see if she can get it straightened out.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

There are a lot of things I like at this point - I'm still feeling my way around as I'm sure everyone else is doing.
I am very hopeful that the WELL Engaged problems many have been dealing with in this conference for the last month have not transferred. I hope everyone can see EVERYTHING once again!

The Z9 does an excellent job of cleaning. Spray it on and wipe it off. I've removed scuff marks, ink marks, paint from my childs not-quite-dried-when-she-put-it-in-the-car art work. It works nicely. You'll love the smell of the Z10. After a year, people still comment on how my car still smells "new".
Also thanks for your support on the other forum with the troublemaker. It is amazing that he can think that 1000 people are all wrong and "gullible fools" as he stated in a private email, and only HE is smart enough to see the truth!
It is also good to be back, I have been unable to access this forum for a long time. It seems to be working a little better over time - couldn't post earlier.

Please work on getting these message boards working properly!!
Lynne29 wrote:"How clean does the car need to be to use the Z-6? The outside water faucets are shuts off for the winter and I need to decide if I can use the Z-6 or if I have to go to the car wash (which is still a VERY cold endeavor)."
Depends how much dirt is on the car. Even on a car with a small amount of dirt you will end up using more Z6 than you should and probably 2 to 3 towels rather than one. I went to a self-serve car wash and just sprayed soap on and rinsed the entire vehicle.(I would never use the brush except on the tires) I then drove it to get most of the water off and later applied a Z6 coating. I used up a lot more than I wanted to. There was alot more dirt left on then I expected. The final results were excellent though.
Next time I may try using two spray bottles and 2 cotton towels. One bottle with water-Z7 mixed and the other with plain water. Maybe spray the Z7 mix generously on the surface, wipe with a wet cotton towel(may need to rinse it out and re-wet in the house a few times during the process), spray with water and wipe dry with the other towel. Then, (if I(you)am not frozen), do the Z6 process on top. And Hopefully the car does not get scratched doing it this way.
