2003 Yukon Denali Oil Gauge

Hey guys - my '03 Denali just started acting up. The oil gauge is all the way on the empty side, even though I just got fresh oil. Is this under warranty? I have 68k miles on it. The guy at my shop said they gave him a $450 bill for his '03 GMC truck. Should I be worried?

    The oil pressure sensor is about $50 at gmpartsdirect. Not sure what your friend's problem was.
