Donkeypunch - I am inclined to agree with you. Does not explain why OHare would tell me that when I was in agreement with the price quoted. Funnily this was mentioned as soon as I sent an email to confirm that the price mentioned was the final price and would not change upon pick up. Hmmm....

Meanwhile we did purchase our van last night in St Louis. Details as below

    Trim - EX-L/RES
    Price paid - $29,300
    Doc Fee - $47
Options - wheel locks, cargo tray, splash guards, pin stripes
Taxes - to be paid at time of registration @ 7%
Total price out of the door (minus tax) - $29,347 (there was no other processing fee or such)
    Financing at - 4.9%/60 months
    Trade in - NONE
Dealer - Frank Leta Honda (in O Fallon MO)

Based on O Hare's final price (incl. $750), I did way better buying in St Louis when you factor in cost of rental car, gas etc. to get the car. Not sure if O Hare was being a little shady...

Thanks to all here for all the informative posts!!

I have an offer of 28,600 OTD for an EX-L from Hendrick Honda. Landmark has said they will beat it, but the phone conversation "made my spidey-sense tingle". Also, getting to and from Hendrick is much easier and mitigates the need to travel 395/495.

I bought a 2002 Accord EX from Hendrick 5 years ago, and they gave me a great internet price.

Agree with passing on the paint protection, My '98 Dodge Junk-a-van (soon to be gone) does not have it and still has a high-gloss finish.

    Hi,

I was just wondering if this was a good deal or not?

2007 EX for 25,733 (this includes dest charge)

HI, my tranny in my Windstar is dying (second time around in 20,000 miles) and I think I should prepare for spending on the Honda. I had seen this post saying a dealer in Jersey had a price of $27,495. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with Long Island, NY purchasing. I have heard some horror stories lately of people walking in and the salespeople say that they get the sticker price and they won't deviate from the sticker. One dealership is actually charging $1,000 above sticker because they offer a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty "included". I was also wondering if anyone has had any experiences in the Danbury CT area. I have a buddy up there who could drive me. For the NY area (based on this forum) $27,495 is the price to beat. I am assuming that did not include any extras or tax, title and registration in NYS. Any help would be appreciated. Our Ford is a ticking time bomb. NEVER BUY FORD PRODUCTS.

Finally got mine - EXL-noRES,noNAV at Autopark Honda. Out the door 29.5k including everything and a few accessories (wheellock, splashguard, tape, rubbermats).
Was very happy with the sales team there - fairly straight forward.

Thanks odysseyfan and everyone else for the input.

Did not get any extended warranty from the dealership or Honda...any thoughts on whether to get it or not?...thx.

I just bought new 07 Honda odyssey EX at $25,300 plus tax, tag, and doc. fee. Can anybody tell me If there is a free roadside service (3 years) for new 07 Honda odyssey?
    Thank you!

    Robert
  • drewbadrewba Member Posts: 154
No, there isn't free roadside assistance. However, it is included if you buy the Honda Care extended warranty.

You have a great deal in front of you for an EX-L DVD/NAV. I bought an EXL with DVD & Nav for $33.8K OTD (no trade-in) with fog lights installed back in January in Central Jersey. There was 0.9% APR for three years which I took advantage. Can't comment on the lower trim models as I didn't priced them at the time. Good luck.

I thinking about buying a 2007 EXL and Trade in my 2005 EXL (2 1/2 years old w/ 33,000). It looks like (by reading the posts) I can get a 2007 EXL for $27,000 including everything except tax. Wonder what a dealership will give me for my trade? If I can get 22,000 then I pay them 5000 plus tax on only 5000. Therefor my yearly cost would be about 2120 per year. I doubt I can get this deal. What do you think?
  • bcuttingbcutting Member Posts: 6
    Stevetin,

I am trying to get that same deal... I called up Andrew, his sales manager called me back.... he offered 28,600. How did you manage to get down to 28,072? That is a fantastics deal you got.

    Thanks
  • bcuttingbcutting Member Posts: 6
Anybody know of any dealers in Northern California I should be hitting up for quotes? I have heard Riverside and Goudy (thanks Stevetin) are good to price in So Cal, but have not heard much about Bay Area. Ideas?

Try Dublin Honda. I negotiated EX-L down to $27,100 (w/ destination) + TTL but I decided to wait for better financing deals in July/Aug.
  • bob333bob333 Member Posts: 4
Hey Hockeyfool....Can you give some specifics of the deal?? I am just starting to contact dealers in the Boston area, including HC, and want to be armed with the latest and greatest for our area. One initial response from them was an EX-L with RES, no Nav, for $30k (including dest). Looks like they need to step up to something a little lower.

    Thanks for your feedback...

I live in dayton and had the same problem in 2005. In 2005 I bought a Pilot and Odyssey. I got mine odyssey from akron (can't remember the dealer at this time will post later upon your request)and my pilot from Park Honda in Cleveland.

This is a little closer than Chicago.

All you can do is ask but I think 22 is out of reach. 21 would be good but 20 and change is more likely.

Good to see you again, obrien.
  • obrien040362obrien040362 Member Posts: 134
See above post. The two dealer I used are:
    Park Honda Akron
    Jay Honda Cleveland

These two had the deals in 2005.

What is the difference between EX and EXL besides leather seats and sun roof?
  • obrien040362obrien040362 Member Posts: 134
    CCCompson

Yes we did chat in 2005. You have a good memory

My killer deal in 2005 (post #7386) is not a killer deal today. A 2007 cheaper than a 2005! Shows why you should never buy after a model trim change. Remember in 2005 the Odeysee was Hot and my Windstar was dead at 77,000 miles. Sorry Ford no more.

Both my cars 2005 Odeysee and 2005 Pilot run great. My wift hit a deer on I-70 and had $8000 damage to the odeysee. Most the damage was to the roof and inside as the deer went through the windsheild. Air bags did not go off since the deer jumped into the windsheild. The van has sinced been repaired at a Honda Collision Center. Zero Deductible, so that was a good thing.

I probably will not trade the car in for a 2007, but I thought i would mess with the dealers and give it a try. So I registered on cars.com and started the process. I have said no thanks to $28,400 and received an e-mail back saying make an offer. What a bunch of snakes.

Is $27,000 including destination the best 2007 deal to date?
  • jgejge Member Posts: 8
I just got quoted $29,995 for an EXL w/DVD & Nav. Add TTL.

This looks like the deal to beat...
  • bcuttingbcutting Member Posts: 6
Differences between the EX and EXL - Leather and sun roof, VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) - that is the technology that shuts down the back three cylinders when you are cruising, bringing your mileage up to an estimated 27 MPG. Also you get active noise cancelling in the cabin and the rubber vibration/shock pads between the frame and the cabin. Those are the biggies I can think of.

I am debating buying a new 2007EXL or buy a used 2005/2006 EXL and save a few thousands. just curious, why do you want to trade-in your 2005 and get a 2007 ? I thought there isn't any significant change in the 2007 model from the 2005 . -thanks.
  • pankajnawalpankajnawal Member Posts: 15
Really a deal to beat. Can you please tell where did you get this quote from?

I got 6 quotes from Chicago area lowest being $30737 from Honda of Joliet. All others are around $30742 to $30899. Tax, Title and doc fee extra.
  • ctkmctkm Member Posts: 4
$27,154.55 out the door for 2007 EX Silver with gray cloth interior on 6/18/07, from Riverside Honda in So. Cal.

Other dealers email quotes was $27,336 OTD, but that dealer wouldn't confirm EX without accessories availability and I didn't want to haggle/be forced to pay for unwanted and overpriced accessories already installed.

Easy process dealing w/Riverside Honda-Went to their website and filled out a request at 1:25 pm and at 2:15 got "e-price" internet email reply that said price was valid for 48 hours. Called Riverside to confirm if EXs were on their lot, without accessories and out the door price. Called other dealers and no one could beat Riverside's price.

We showed up around 7:15, looked on the main lot, but more cars were in their storage lot so they drove us down the block so we could look at several EX models to pick from.

Picked one with 1.5 miles and still covered in factory plastic, then went back to the dealership to do the paperwork while they preped the vehicle. No problems or surprises and they gave the price they emailed and Darvin actually said the price was slightly lower (in our favor!) because the sales tax rate was incorrect. They also priced out the extended warranty, which we declined and they did not push us to buy extra accessories.

    $24844 vehicle
    $55 doc fee
    $50 smog fee
    $1933.55 sales tax (7.75%)
    $28 DVM elect. filing fee
    $162 license fees
    $65 reg/transfer/title fee
    $8.75 Calif tire fee
    $8.25 smog fee
    $27154.55 Out the door total

So, a good purchasing experience and a fair price with Riverside Honda, so we'd definitely consider them again.

    Hi bcutting ,

Try to deal the price by email or phone only & at weekdays ( Tuesday to thursday ). If they don't sell it try sierra Honda or Spirit Honda ( last time Spirit Honda gave me 28,372 w/o invisible floor mats so I got better deal at Goudy Honda w/ invisible floor mats. good luck .

PS: I think you might get better deal than us ( the late you buy the better deal you get )

Haven't seen an EX-L reportedly sold for less than 27. Best EX prices are 25 and change.

I have been able to get the lowest quote of 29,950 OTD (about 27,400 + TTL ).

Is this a good price. Anybody got any better deals than this?
  • pankajnawalpankajnawal Member Posts: 15
Thanks. I got the same quote from them just now. But it does not include destination charge of $595. So the actual price is $30590 which is $147 lower than Honda of Joliet. However just checked on dealerrater.com, Castle Honda does not have good rating. Need to think which way to go.
  • dsmallsdsmalls Member Posts: 3
About a month ago, best price I got was from Dublin Honda, $26,700 +TTL.
We balked at their value of our trade, so we've waited until we could get it sold. What a pain! Finally sold though, so I'm gonna call Dublin and see if the deal is still good. If anything, I'd think they'd go lower, since a month has gone by and that means a month sooner to them getting the 08s in...

Hi, I also live in Long Island. I first went to the Valley Stream Honda Dealer and was quoted $28,100 (must be picked from their lot and only one is available - not my color too) when I walked out the door and the salesman is yelling and screaming he's losing money on that deal. Then I emailed PS Honda in Manhasset and they quoted me MSRP, period. Then I went to the Woodside Queens Honda dealer and they quoted $28,795. I told them I can get one from Carsdirect for $28,400 but they won't match. Thanks to this forum, someone suggested Open Road Honda's online price quote and I tried it and got my Ody the next day for $27,495.
For trade-in: My 2005 Altima SE w/ 15K miles; minor dings.
    KBB: $15,000 Good condition.
    Valley Stream: $15,000
    Woodside: $15,500
    Open Road: $14,900
P.S. All price mentioned above included dest.
  • myoldriflesmyoldrifles Member Posts: 15
Thanks for that reply. I thought I was crazy. Went to Riverhead, Nardy, Babylon and Patchogue. Encountered the same attitude. I guess they can keep their vans, I will end up there too. What extras did you get with yours? We want to include roof rails, XM Radio, reverse sensors and Subwoofer. I am willing to pay list for them so long as I can get close to that price. What did they charge you for title and reg?
  • conger14conger14 Member Posts: 25
Jose2828, did you lease or buy through open road?
  • jose2828jose2828 Member Posts: 9
I have to take a look at the title and reg. charge. I don't remember. I got the all weather floor mat, wheel lock and that useless windows security number thing I forget what it was called. I have no idea how much will the dealer charge you for all your options but discounted parts price will run you over $1,100 easily. Just to let you know.
P.S. Someone has mentioned the reverse sensors are not that useful on another forum. I am trying to install a backup camera myself. :confuse:
  • jose2828jose2828 Member Posts: 9
I brought from them and took the 4.9% APR 60 months offer. With my trade (minus the money I still owe Nissan), extra $1,000 down, my monthly is about $490.

I am looking to buy a 2007 Honda Odyssey EXL or EXL-RES this June or July. Does anyone know what kind of deals you can get around Omaha, NE or Des Moines, IA? We would be financing through the dealer. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm in the process of buying a new Odyssey EX-L with DVD and looking for assistance in pricing.
So far the lowest quote I have received is $29,449.

    Does this sound reasonable ?

Also, should I wait for the 2008 Model Or just go ahead with this...I assume the 2008 model changes are only cosmetic and nothing big.

'ld like your thoughts..Thanks in advance.

BTW, I live in NY (Poughkeepsie)

I plan to buy an EX-L with DVD & Nav for my wife in the next week or so. I just received a quote from Conyers Honda in Georgia for about $31,400 plus tax & tag. From some of the postings from the Midwest and California, it looks like the right price is about $30,500. I live in Southeast Virginia (Norfolk area). I don't mind going to Atlanta, but I'd like to stay closer to home. Has anyone purchased such a vehicle for under $31,000 in any part of Virginia or North Carolina?
  • myoldriflesmyoldrifles Member Posts: 15
Great response. Thank you. When you drove to Jersey, did they have the ability to do the NYS DMV stuff there, or did you have to do it on your own? I know about the extras, but the price negotiated was the most important thing because I figured I'd pay full price for hte extras.

Is it the norm to request a deposit for a vehicle to just run credit on a Lease after a quote is given? :confuse: Or am I being difficult, shopping around for an 07 Odyssey EX-L in NY. My quotes look higher than those being given on this site :confuse: Can anyone recommend a good place to look into the NYC area? Keep hearing about a change in the leasing program taking place 7/6/07?

We pulled the trigger at Goudy Honda - didn't do as well as steventin, but ended up a couple hundred bucks higher. Thank you sir for the lead!

Well Since if feel I am a good negotiator and Honda holds it value (not much depreciation) and in Ohio you only pay sales tax on the price minus trade I conclude the following:

New 2007 for 27,300 (i got this price already)or better

Trade in Value 21,000 (i got this price too)

    Out of pocket 6,300 + tax = $6,700

I have owned the car for 30 months

So cost to drive is 223/month not bad for an EXL.

I guess you look at it like my own lease program.

If I sell pivately I need to get 21,000 + 6.5% or 22,365 because when i buy the 2007 I will have to pay the tax on the whole amount.

    Do you want to buy?
  • obrien040362obrien040362 Member Posts: 134
When I was buying my 2005 two and a half years ago the deals were in VA (DC area) and NC. You can check the posts from that time and maybe get a name or too. Keep Serching back and read post from Nov 1, 2004 to Dec 31, 2004. You will find these VA dealers. For some reason Henderson rings a bell and dealers in Manassis, va (sp?)
  • fanticfantic Member Posts: 3
ctkm: The total out the door price was 27278(if I remember correctly).
It was from Anderson Honda at Polo Alto. They initially gave me the
quote of 25288, didn't reply me for any price beat/match, couple other
dealers offered 25088. But they sent out mass email with $500 coupon
if purchase the vehicle the day before memorial weekend. So the price
they sell to me is 24788.

They were so busy on that day, they didn't try to sell me any extras
    and accessories.

I scheduled to go in tomorrow, so haven't done the deal yet. But this is what I am supposed to be getting:

    EX-L + Nav + DVD + Wheel Locks + Mud Guards = $30,390 + tax & fees

Includes destination charge. This was dealer's first offer and was the best of 4 quotes that I got (through Edmunds). No nogotiations (my choice), all handled through e-mail. Got color and features that I wanted.
  • jetzzsjetzzs Member Posts: 64
Wow, that seems like a great first offer. Are you financing or is this the cash price? Yesterday I was quoted a price for an 2007 EXL + DVD of $30,177 + tax and fees but including destination. This was a Des Moines, IA dealership. That price was financing through the dealer.
  • mlgraymlgray Member Posts: 7
I meant to mention that I got the 2.9% financing for 36 months (with $3,000 down).

As I said, I haven't done the deal yet. My basic mistrust of dealers is keeping me paranoid that something is going to happen once I get there tomorrow. Like "Oh, we just sold that vehicle. Let's see what we can do instead." But, I have no reason to believe that anything will go wrong other than pessimism.
