I know Husky makes front seat floor liners, second seat floor liners, third seat floor liners, and a cargo liner (covering only the cargo area from the 3rd row of seats back) for an 2003 Envoy XL. Does anyone know if someone makes a cargo mat covering the entire cargo area for when the 3rd row of seats are folded down?
If you are not going to tow, I would go with the I-6, better fuel economy.
Check out the stats: I-6 275 hp, 275 ft lbs V-8 290 hp, 325 ft lbs
So you are talking 15 hp and 50 ft lbs. Your call, is that amount of power increase worth the price difference to you? If so, the choice is an easy one. Just a thought for you.
My father is a GMC truck dealer. To my knowledge, there is no "Denali" package Envoy for 2003 or 2004, as I have seen the specs released to dealers so far. There will be some new options like, power adjustable pedals, navigation system etc. There are aftermarket Grilles you can buy that are very similar to Denali grilles, if you are speaking of an Envoy with a Denali appearnce. If I hear anything otherwise I will let you know.
Thanks for the info Mike, do you know when will the Envoy XL will have the Navigation? too bad GM missed this option, (they missed a sale to me) I bought the murano with nav instead.. But I'm still looking to get an SUV with 3 row seats and must have nav (we travel a lot). hopefully GM will have the NAV option before I have to buy another Nissan Pathfinder Armada.
The 2004 Envoys, which I think they start to order usually in August, will have the navigation system option. I have already seen it and it looks pretty cool. And by the way, shame on your GMC dealer. My Dad has been installing awesome navigation systems for people on their trucks for about 3 years now.
With the Xl go with the V8. With the added weight in the XL the inline 6 doesn't have the get up and go it has in the standard length. If you want power now get the V8!
So the grrreat 2003 GMC Envoy (12k miles) has been in the shop 3 times already and now it still is acting up. Here's what happens: You sit still at the stop light or sign or in traffic and the damn thing jerks (as if someone just gave you a baby love tap from behind), and 20 secs later does it again. Doesn't happen all the time once aday, twice a day or several days( no specific time, temp or period). So the last time after having it for 5 f-ing days they finally determined through GMC tech line that the slip yoke has play in it and in order to resolve the problem they had to pull it out and lube it with a heavy duty FORD grease and put back in. My last question to the Service Manager was: "if this doesn't cure it what is GM willing to do cause we are really getting fed up?" He said: "we will repair or replace it." Me: replace what? Him: the vehicle.
Buy back time!
Or do I do the Lemon Law and if I did, how would I get the ball rolling?
I have to say the people there have been really nice (not jerks at all), but really drag their butts and good communication between service reps on the same problem really sucks. It's had a few nit noy things also happen, but the tranny jerk bugs a person, as to what will happen next. Since Feb it's been to the dealer 5 times and the last 3 have been this problem.
Any advice on components for off road driving? The Edmund's review remarks on a squishy suspension, which is of concern. De-squishing it, and perhaps getting a bit more ground clearance, would be a good thing. (I surfcast in some rocky areas, and just HATE testing out boulders with a transfer case.)
Stumbled across your post looking for lift options for my Envoy as well. I was at the outerbanks, NC this past week and took it on the beach. All I can say is I am glad I was not at out at M. The ruts were deep and I was dragging bottom in some spots. My wife loves the truck, but I have clearance envy. My old s10 blazer had at least a couple more inches.
Good luck on your search. I'll check back in here or on SOL if I find anything,
My '03 Envoy has the same tranny problem yours does. GM Customer Service upped the warranty to 100,000 and considered the issue closed. Not in my book!
I'm glad to see your post about the yolk problem. My dealer can't (or won't) fix it. They claim the vehicle doesn't exhibit the problem when they drive it.
my envoy makes clicking sounds when it shifts from a start. today it shifted wrong and made a loud bang and now it does not have reverse. it also wont shift properly, and it runs higher RPM's than normal...i am the original owner and it only has 27,000 miles... It is currently in the shop...has anyone seen this problem before???
I noticed that the 04 Envoys have a seek button on the steering wheel instead of the useless am/fm tune button that I have in my 02. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to program this feature into my steering wheel? I might consider buying a new one just for this feature!!!!
I also have a 2002 Envoy. The problem you describe has happened to me 3 times now! The first two times it was fixed under warranty. The last time the dealership charged me $1800.00. I am very upset with GMC. Each time they have rebuilt my transmission and said that the sunshell gear was damaged.
I have some '03-'05 GMC Envoy headlights for sale on ebay. Almost mint condition came off an '05 and selling at half the price new. I don't know how to open my own discussion so I went ahead and put in this one, sorry.
I also have a 2002 Envoy and at 33,000 miles I heard a loud bang and then no reverse. GMC covered it under warranty and rebuilt my transmission. I am now at 61,000 miles and it just happened again. This time I heard a small banging sound (maybe clicking like) upon accelaration for a little while and then the bang and no reverse. Mine does not run higher RPM's then normal. My dealer did not want to cover it, but they relented and gave me a rental car and spoke to GMC and said the cost would be $1,700.00 and GMC agreed to pay all but $400. There is definitely a defect in this transmission. They tell me it is not a common thing, but that they have seen it. I am afraid to take a long trip with this vehicle and am worried that the transmission may only last another 30,000 miles and I'll be stuck again and have to fight to have them pay for it. Since your post was from last year have you had any more problems? Anyone else have problems with the 2002 Envoy transmission particulary no reverse?
I lost my tranny at 110 Km it was the sungear and GM knows they have a problem just wont admit it. i own a 2000 enovy and then had my HID headlight blow the stealership wanted 1300 for a new one. as for there trannys now i think they did what my tranny guy did and bought or buy hardened sun shells that way the 160 km warrenty works for them as for my tranny 1700 later no probs at all for the last yr knock on wood

P.S anyone needing a HID ballast igniter and blub let me know OEM of course
hello, I need to find some information on a 2002 envoy for towing a trailer, my ex-husbund took my envoy from me threw our divorce and I need to know that the truck can pull a 24 foot trailer. He still has the trailer sitting at my house and wont come get it. He says that the envoy wont tow it, when in fact I know that it will. I need prove in writing, so I need to find a manual online where I can print it out. Can someone help me?
Hey I stumbled upon your post selling the HID ballast and Ignitor and I was wondering if by any chance at all It was still available. If it is Please get back to me. Thanks
sorry for taking so long in replying, I was hunting!! and the answer is yes I still have it if your looking for one , email me at snowy65@hotmail.com or the one used here.
I have a 2002 Envoy and am having the same issue! I drove it Saturday with no issues, when I got into it the next day I had no reverse and drive does not shift properly. My Envoy only has 53k and this is not acceptable!!!!!! I brought it to the dealer and am still waiting to hear what the issue is but there is no way I am shelling out $1700 to fix a problem that is obviously known to them and should be a recall!!!!! I have been in contact with corporate so we will see what happens. My mechanic found an 05 tranny and will swap it out for $1000 so I may have to go that route! So far GMC is the reason I buy foreign!!!!
Does anyone know what the cross reference is for a driver control module. (this is the drivers door controls for windows, heater, seats, etc) The part number on the part is 15829844 but all the websites that I have been to show this is not the right number......

Also - can a heated seat be added to the cloth seats as aftermarket?
