Socialists claim "Excessive Profits", "Gouging", but the free enterprise American way is still dominant and my investments in the petrol industry deserve a boost.
Stay employed, helps my Social Security check and buy gasoline, helps my portfolio. Thank you.

I've only put about 30 miles on the truck since getting it back, but the fuel gauge has barely budged. That's a welcome change from before the repair, when 30 miles would knock it down about 1/4 tank, and by the time I'd gone 100, the needle would occasionally hit "E" on a sharp enough curve. :shades:
Oh yeah, the Shell station on my way in to work is now at $2.449/$2.549/$2.649. Slowly but surely coming down. Too bad I don't have any more impending car repairs that would take me over to the repair shop in Gambrills, where the cheap gas is.
Also saw a report of $2.00 for regular in Lancaster this morning.
They had actually run out of regular and plus by Sunday afternoon, but they still had super for $2.33.
Next cheapest was the Royal Farms on Rt 404 and Rt 13, for $2.15.
In Potomac and Georgetown, gas is still $2.54!

Went to Hershey yesterday, and saw some places on the way in at about $2.17 which was surprising.
$1.99.9 is just around the corner!

Some of us drive through those areas. I'm closer to Rockville but the mailing addy is still Potomac. Sadly, so are the property tax levels!

This is a 23 cent decrease in 3 weeks, and only 6 cents over the days before Katrina

Your welcome... :P
My daughter phoned last week that she paid $2.07/gal in Akien, South Carolina.
E. Alabama runs around $2.34(plus or minus 10 cent).
I hear China is decreasing appetite for fuel these days...
My old MB tech said Chevron is best, so that's what I use. And the station I use has cheap milk. I won't drive 30 minutes each way to save 20 cents per gallon.
Ain't that the truth. I've started checking that site for my local area 2-3 times a week; there's probably better than a $0.30/gallon spread around my area as well. For some reason, it appears the richer the suburb, the pricier the gas.
I hadn't considered the price of the grocery items. We get all out groceries on our weekly pilgrimage to the grocery store so I can chose gas based purely on price at the pump. Fortunately, my Toyota isn't quite so finicky about what it injests.

87 $2.13
89 $2.23
92 $2.43
Sheetz 87 $2.139, 93 $2.339; diesel still $2.499.
I'd expect Citgo and Exxon to match Sheetz by the end of the day.
I don't recally any new announcements about either groundbreakings for new refineries, or restarts of idling refineries.
I started drivin' in 2001. My first tankful of gas was a mistaken fill-up of premium, at about $1.209 a gallon.
Today, for regular, I paid $2.159/gallon in Baltimore. My total for a complete fill-up is $16 less than it was around Labor Day, but still $10-$12 more than only a few years ago.
I betcha that we'll never see a sub-$2 gallon of retail gas ever again (yes, even with prices dropping like a rock right now).
I'm turning in my prognostication license on Monday!

People thought they were getting a good deal on the gas at $2.23 a gallon for regular, a whopping 26 cents a gallon cheaper than what it was selling for across the street. But instead of getting the best deal, they ended up getting the worse deal as they all soon learned when they tried to start their engines.

I often wonder how many times people will have to hear "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" before they stop getting caught by stuff like this.
'scuse me while I go to the mailbox and wait for my check for getting that money out of Nigeria :P
2.06-2.18 most other stations in the area.
When I was in Hawaii this past week, gas there was between $2.90-$3.18/gal. The lowest prices were in Honolulu, where the Big Island (Kailua-Kona area) were the most expensive, but dropped 20 cents in one day to $2.98/gal. Most stations were either Shell, Chevron, or 76.
$2.099 at Pure (did you know this brand still exists?) and no-name at Express Car Wash.
$2.119 at BP, Chevron, and Kangaroo (all 3 stations side-by-side), plus East Coast and another no-name.
$2.139 at Sheetz, Citgo, and Exxon.
