is cheap. The problem is the petrol industry has been playing price catch up only in recent times. Had the suppliers gradually nicked the price up over the last four decades like the tobacco industry did cigarettes, we wouldn't complain because we would have adjusted to the "inflationary step increases".

Socialists claim "Excessive Profits", "Gouging", but the free enterprise American way is still dominant and my investments in the petrol industry deserve a boost.

Stay employed, helps my Social Security check and buy gasoline, helps my portfolio. Thank you. :)

Regular is now $2.29 at the Sunoco on Rhawn and Verree in NE Philly. Ultra is down to about $2.59.

when I went to get my Silverado out of the repair shop, I saw 87 octane as low as $2.29 per gallon. And now that my truck is fixed (turns out that the choke was messed up and some of the vacuum lines were broken), maybe it'll get better than 9 mpg. :P

with a 305-4bbl putting out a whopping 165 hp, tied in with tall gearing and a curb weight of around 4200 lb, there's only so much fun to go around! :P

I've only put about 30 miles on the truck since getting it back, but the fuel gauge has barely budged. That's a welcome change from before the repair, when 30 miles would knock it down about 1/4 tank, and by the time I'd gone 100, the needle would occasionally hit "E" on a sharp enough curve. :shades:

Oh yeah, the Shell station on my way in to work is now at $2.449/$2.549/$2.649. Slowly but surely coming down. Too bad I don't have any more impending car repairs that would take me over to the repair shop in Gambrills, where the cheap gas is.

...Regular is down two cents to $2.27 at the Sunoco at Rhawn and Verree in NE Philly. Good news for Philly commuters - the SEPTA strike is over which should reduce the amount of traffic on the roads.
  • rorrrorr Member Posts: 3,630
....regular down to 2.179 at the local Shell station.:shades:

Another surprise on the last Penn State home football weekend... down to $2.15 for 87, $2.25 for 89, and $2.45 for premium.

Also saw a report of $2.00 for regular in Lancaster this morning. :)
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Found gas for $2.13 in Ocean City, MD, at the 7-11 on 142nd Street.

They had actually run out of regular and plus by Sunday afternoon, but they still had super for $2.33.

Next cheapest was the Royal Farms on Rt 404 and Rt 13, for $2.15.

In Potomac and Georgetown, gas is still $2.54!

Now down to $2.07.9 at the local Citgo and no name places. Even Exxon is at 215.

Went to Hershey yesterday, and saw some places on the way in at about $2.17 which was surprising.

$1.99.9 is just around the corner!

...Regular is $2.24 at the Sunoco on Rhawn and Verree as of yesterday - down three cents. Of course, I don't think we should get too excited. Gasoline prices are down, but we're going to get whacked with the cost of heating oil, coal, and natural gas.

Some of us drive through those areas. I'm closer to Rockville but the mailing addy is still Potomac. Sadly, so are the property tax levels!

    2.59/2.69/2.79

This is a 23 cent decrease in 3 weeks, and only 6 cents over the days before Katrina
  • rorrrorr Member Posts: 3,630
You might want to try the Arco station on 8th. They are apparently at $2.39 according to the locals. In fact, there's probably a dozen or so stations in the greater Seattle area with gas below $2.40.

Mr. Patel is now dealing his 87 octane at $2.19/gal. (as much as 10 cent more in other areas of town)

My daughter phoned last week that she paid $2.07/gal in Akien, South Carolina.

    E. Alabama runs around $2.34(plus or minus 10 cent).

I hear China is decreasing appetite for fuel these days...

Yep, I've seen that site (from gasbuddy), it is very interesting to see the variation in pricing in certain suburbs.

My old MB tech said Chevron is best, so that's what I use. And the station I use has cheap milk. I won't drive 30 minutes each way to save 20 cents per gallon.
  • rorrrorr Member Posts: 3,630
"..it is very interesting to see the variation in pricing in certain suburbs."

Ain't that the truth. I've started checking that site for my local area 2-3 times a week; there's probably better than a $0.30/gallon spread around my area as well. For some reason, it appears the richer the suburb, the pricier the gas.

I hadn't considered the price of the grocery items. We get all out groceries on our weekly pilgrimage to the grocery store so I can chose gas based purely on price at the pump. Fortunately, my Toyota isn't quite so finicky about what it injests.

The Sunoco on Rhawn and Verree in NE Philly has regular at $2.20. Regular and the other lower grades ran out and all that was left was Ultra at $2.48 - the lowest I've seen in a long time. I treated my girlfriend's LaCrosse to Ultra last night since it was all they had.

I thought this would never happen again....but...it has.

#1.97 in Pitman, NJ this morning. Also, $1.97 at a new WaWa in Blackwood, NJ.

    Sheetz 87 $2.139, 93 $2.339; diesel still $2.499.

I'm in the shadow of the Blue Ridge, esp. Hawksbill and Stony Man, the highest peaks in this area (just over 4000 ft).

I'd expect Citgo and Exxon to match Sheetz by the end of the day.

"...we have a warm winter to go along with the lower gas prices, then everybody will be happy!"

I don't recally any new announcements about either groundbreakings for new refineries, or restarts of idling refineries.

I started drivin' in 2001. My first tankful of gas was a mistaken fill-up of premium, at about $1.209 a gallon.

Today, for regular, I paid $2.159/gallon in Baltimore. My total for a complete fill-up is $16 less than it was around Labor Day, but still $10-$12 more than only a few years ago.

I betcha that we'll never see a sub-$2 gallon of retail gas ever again (yes, even with prices dropping like a rock right now).

Looking at $1.99 in Connellsville and Gap, PA :)

coming into work this morning, the Shell station in Seabrook, MD was down to $2.399/$2.499/$2.599. I only caught a glimpse of the Citgo, but it looked like 87 was $2.299, so I'm guessing 10 cents cheaper across the board.
  • PF_FlyerPF_Flyer Member Posts: 9,372
Another 2 cents down to $2.11 in State College. Seeing a lot of sub-$2.05 prices showing up in south central PA as well.

    Drivers Stranded at Gas Station

People thought they were getting a good deal on the gas at $2.23 a gallon for regular, a whopping 26 cents a gallon cheaper than what it was selling for across the street. But instead of getting the best deal, they ended up getting the worse deal as they all soon learned when they tried to start their engines.

  • PF_FlyerPF_Flyer Member Posts: 9,372
Although I'm not surprised at all that someone thought they could pull a fast one by offering a deal that was too good to be true to the gas station.

I often wonder how many times people will have to hear "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" before they stop getting caught by stuff like this.

'scuse me while I go to the mailbox and wait for my check for getting that money out of Nigeria :P

$2.10/gal Citgo on Chamberlain Highway in Meriden, CT.

When I was in Hawaii this past week, gas there was between $2.90-$3.18/gal. The lowest prices were in Honolulu, where the Big Island (Kailua-Kona area) were the most expensive, but dropped 20 cents in one day to $2.98/gal. Most stations were either Shell, Chevron, or 76.
  • 210delray210delray Member Posts: 4,721
    All prices are for 87:

$2.099 at Pure (did you know this brand still exists?) and no-name at Express Car Wash.
$2.119 at BP, Chevron, and Kangaroo (all 3 stations side-by-side), plus East Coast and another no-name.
$2.139 at Sheetz, Citgo, and Exxon.
