  I ended up buying Pirelli LT235/85R16 Scorpion A/T's (Load Range E). They have a reasonably
  good tread for all purposes and fit very well
  on the stock OEM wheels. I think they lifted
  the truck about 3/4 to 1 inch in height. I'll see how they do for me.

  My wife would say that I go or "I go", but the truck stays. I haven't seen the scorpions, how does the tread compare to other tires, goodyear's, bfg's, generals? Let me know on the ride, noise, and load handling?

  I have Scorpions on my 1993 Pathfinder. Ride, handling, and NVH are excellent. Snow traction is top notch, as is their behavior on wet pavement.I believe they are the best in class. "S" speed rated too.

  I've been thinking about a set of Yokohama Geolander A/Ts after the Generals that came with the truck wear out. It may be a while though -- 12K miles so far and they look almost new. They're cheap and noisy, but they certainly last.

  stanford... I have 32k on the generals and still look good, not bad for 4x4. I got a hole in one of mine last month and had to tube it, wanted new ones, but just couldn't throw them out. I will change them when summer gets here though, if it ever does; rain, sleet, and snow for the past week.
