Did you ever get an answer to the 2 posts on the bulkhead? I am curious about those too.
Also, what about that 5" wide strap that snaps down to the back of the passenger seat headrest? Anyone know what that is about?
Lastly, I see there is an optional adjustable cargo framework that fits down in the 'trunk'. Dealer says it's about $100 but the photo isn't real clear. Does anyone have experience with these? Are they good quality?
Is this a dealer scam or does these Crossfire's loose exsessive bucks after we bought them . :confuse: <img src="
withen a month the were 32K, I had a new one had 6K miles and sold it 6 months later for 22K, they tank bad, I bought my current on for 13K, just put a new engine in under warranty...so let it tank now:)
Ihave a 04 ltd and bought for 13K, yes it will drop like a rock
It's a great feeling, isn't it?
Q4: Are there specific provisions to the new warranty?
A4. In order to maintain the Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, you must have a powertrain inspection performed by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealer once every 5 years. This inspection, performed at no charge, must be made within 60 days of each 5-year anniversary of the warranty start date of the vehicle. It is your responsibility to perform preventative maintenance on your vehicle. You’re strongly encouraged to follow the instructions contained in the Scheduled Maintenance Service guidelines in your Owner’s Manual.
Yes, I was in error.....even '06s purchased on or after 7/26/07 have the LIFETIME warranty......only stipulation to keep it in effect is within 60 days of each 5 year period you must get the free powertrain inspection by an authorized dealership.
So how much did you give for your '06? I gave just < $23K for my '07 limited 6-spd. These are incredible deals!!!!!
Am I reading these tires correctly.....they were + $185 on the sticker....All Season....appear to be "W" rated (168mph)?
Also, what about that 5" wide strap that snaps down to the back of the passenger seat headrest? Anyone know what that is about? It is on coupe as well as convertible passenger seats.
Lastly, I see there is an optional adjustable cargo framework that fits down in the 'trunk'. Dealer says it's about $100 but the photo isn't real clear. Does anyone have experience with these? Are they good quality?
The Crossfire is a niche car it is not for everyone, it is the "love child" of MB and Chrysler. The Crossfire was overpriced to many when introduced, I paid $41,636.00 for my 2005 Roadster Limited in 2004 and have never regretted it. If you bought your Crossfire with the intention of reselling it later, you brought the wrong car. Chrysler had no intentions of building these cars past the 2008 model year. In order for dealers to get the cars that they want they have to take a certain amount of Crossfires. The Crossfire resale values have tanked and based on the price that I paid, Chrysler is basically giving them away. Value is like the old maxim "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" those of us who really love the car know its true value. If you have the oppurtunity to purchase a Crossfire at todays prices whether it is used or brand new you are getting a great deal in my humble opinion.
I was a little stunned to read in the owners manual 8.4 quarts of Mobil One.....that stuff's $6.00 -$7.00 a quart. I'll definately let it go till the oil change dash light comes on. I had no idea there were ANY engines that hold 8.4 quarts of oil.
If you just now found out about the 8.5 quarts of synthetic oil needed, wait till you read about the 12 spark plugs.....
Would you buy one again? Why would you or why would you not?
This car garnered more looks and oohs and aahs from people than anything I've ever driven, and I've driven a lot of cars. I fell in love with it from the day I drove it home. I could care less about resale value. The car held up like a dream for the 2 years I had it with regular maintenance. No issues. I am saddened that I had to get rid of it.
Would I buy another.....my thought is if I was wealthy I'd buy every one I could find & store them away......
If you can find a new 6-speed Limited & get it for less than $23K like I did...with a lifetime warranty......Jesus Man...go get it before it's gone!!!!
I'm 55 ...a little over 6 ft tall & I fit OK, & hope to drive it till I can't push a clutch anymore.
My husband is 6'4" its a little tight but I drive him around. He feels like a KEPT MAN when hes in MY CAR!
Don't hesitate, just do it!
this for a car that looks like it was never in the rain the underside is so clean.
The car attracts people like bees to honey, and it is a blast to drive. Why they are
not holding there value better is strange seeing what a fun car they are.
After driving it for 1,500 miles the brake lights don't work , the cruise control
quit and the ESP/BSA warning light came on. It's under warrantee so chrysler will
fix it but I was wondering if anyone else out there had a similar problem. I think
the problems are related because the are all somehow connected to the braking
system.
The car is a great piece of automotive design and execution. I have a roadster and they really attract attention.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler apparently hoped that its slow-selling Crossfire would die a quiet death this week. The end came, without any official word or fanfare from the company, on December 17, when production of the vehicle ended at the Karmann plant in Osnabrück, Germany.
Chrysler officials confirmed the end of production for Inside Line and noted that the Crossfire's demise will not be marked with any ceremony. The final Crossfire off the production line is apparently bound for obscurity, too. "There are no plans to put the final vehicle in a museum," said Michele Tinson, a Chrysler spokeswoman, on Thursday.
Pulling the plug on the Crossfire is "part of our initiative to have the right products at the right time," Tinson said.
On November 1, Chrysler announced that the Crossfire, Pacifica, PT Cruiser convertible and Dodge Magnum — all slow sellers — were being discontinued in response to "dealer requests.
"These actions reflect our new customer-driven philosophy and allow us to focus our resources on new, more profitable and appealing products," said Jim Press, Chrysler vice chairman and president. "Further, these product actions are all in response to dealer requests."
Tinson said she was unable to provide 2008 volume numbers for the Crossfire, saying "We don't track it. Germany does."
But statistics compiled by Automotive News show Chrysler sold only 193 Crossfires in November and still had 1,000 unsold cars left in stock on December 1.
What this means to you: Look for some year-end fire-sale pricing on those last 1,000 Crossfires.
