    a Toyota, but had the misfortune of having a 4 Runner in the shop last week. My employee, Jeremy, aligned it, well he started the job. In trying to set the toe in, he pulled the left outer tie rod end's ball out of the socket. The vehicle was a '97 with 53 K miles on it, and the tie rod was not loose. Toyota makes tie rods that the ball is only retained by the nylon bearing, and the easily corroded metal of the body is often hard to turn in the threads of the inner tie rod. Chevys or Fords, have tie rods that are mechanically retained by metal until they rust away or wear out. Special care is not required when setting toe on a Ford or Chevy. I would rather drive an Explorer with Firestones than one of those.

    The Husy has been rock solid for 4 years. Of course I bought the 3 year warranty on it. LOL!! It's the FE 600 with electric start. I licensed it for the street. Haven't decided what to do. Fix it, fire sale it and get the Yamaha YZ/WR. Don't know how much I'll miss the power from 400/426 to 600. That new big KTM looks unbelievable. They even don't recommend it for casual trail riding. It looks like they borrowed a lot from the Husabergs.

    Just got the Yamaha credit card with a 20,000 limit!!! Kids getting a new YZ80, wife's getting a Raptor.

    No, the Husaberg is good, I know. It was just such a rocket, with stiff motocross style suspension, Doug had problems with it on the rocky, gnarly high altitude trails Colorado is famous for. The power is so immense, comes on with a two stroke like hit, he would have problems on a tight switchback, or steep incline. He's a real master mechanic though. A few years back, three of us tried crossing Agate Creek. It was fast running and deep. The first guy made it across. The two that followed drowned their bikes, including Doug, and one nearly drowned himself. All I could see was the white of his eyes inside his helmet, under the bike, as the stream carried him away. We jumped in after him and rescued. He went hypothermic, so we drained some gasoline, and started a fire. Meanwhile, Doug methodicaly took that air box off, spark plug out, had it all figured out, so his Husaberg was the first drowned bike to get restarted. The guy who made it across the first time, drowned his XR600 trying to cross back. I was the only one who didn't drown, because I didn't try to make the crossing, too busy pulling people out! I can't imagine the power of a Husaberg 600. Doug was always able to repair it, had to order parts, but even on Hondas you have to order them sometimes.

    i keep hearing all these tundra problems/test drove 3 of them in past week-noticed no problems


    I have talked to 10-15 Tundra owners in MA.-ALL love trucks-not one problem/they will all buy another
    I wonder if all this "hate Tundra) mail is from Chevt & GMC dealers???

    I'm going to purchase one on Fri.

    Maybe if Toyota made bikes we'd never have to fix them!!!!! Well, except for the occasional head gasket or vibration. LOL!!!

    I knew you wanted a Tundra. If ira3 reports back that his is perfect, I guess you'll be driving a 2001 Tundra. Way to go Quad!!!

    Yes if they make it perfect, I'll be the first to join him. Going into 2nd year production, it's still a POS, and virtual certainty you'll have vibration and brake problems. You written about your vibration problems. Obviously, they ALL do it.

    I had a tire that was rebalanced. Sorry to disappoint you, but my truck is smooth. It handles rugged terrain much better than the Fords, which tend to have a high center of gravity. Again, looks like you'll be driving a Tundra soon. I knew you'd come around and see the light of day!!

    I bought a 2001 Tundra about a month ago. So far it is an awesome truck. I like everything about it. I've even sat in the back seat during a few trips to town and didn't think it was bad at all. The seats are very comfortable. A lot more comfortable than the pre-99 GM trucks. As for the problems you read at Tundrasolutions. There are very few Tundra owners that have a vibrating truck. It's the same people posting over and over that the topic is so long. The shaking console has been fixed for 2001, and they've got a TSB out for 2000 models. They added a roller to the middle of the front bench seat, which solved the problem. I have the 60/40 front bench and mine is great. The warping they also fixed with a revised star adjuster. There is a TSB out on this also. Much better horn for 2001. And that TRD supercharged Tundra, wicked.

    Where did you read abou the TSB for the swhaking console?

    I have a bench seat in a 2000, and would like it installed.

    You thought the back seat of the Tundra was comfortable? how small are you? 5'1" 100 pounds?
    That back seat is suicide, you should have bought a honda civic!
