Filled at ARCO Yuma, AZ. $3.27 for RUG. Diesel $3.65. The last time I went to that station they accepted CCs Not any longer. Cash or ATM with a charge. I will gas buddy for Casa Grande and find the best price.
Took a side trip to see the Tom Mix monument near Florence on the old highway to Tucson. Filled at Costco in NE Tucson. Paid $3.07 for RUG. ARCO was $3.05 but cash only. With the AMEX Costco discount the price is $3.01 per gallon.
by work at the Shell and BP; they are back to $3.56. I noticed diesel is running from $4.09 to $4.19 depending on the station. Will see what happens to prices tomorrow.
Last time gas was under $3.50 at our Costco was 2/15/2011. $3.47 yesterday. Our other Costco a bit further from home is showing $3.41. Anyone under $3???
was for $3.23 at the usual. Stations are running from that price to $3.39 along my route, with most in the $3.26 range.
Weather's not been bad the past couple days, temps in the low-50s and rain but most everyone would rather have this than the normal cold temps and snow
How's the PA running? You've had it a few years now right?
It's running great right now, but I've had some issues with it. I bought it on 12/12/09 but had to take delivery two days later, because it had some issue it needed to pass inspection, and the dealer hadn't fixed it yet. So yeah, just a little over two years.
It had 56,372 miles on it when I bought it, and around 78,000 now. Never had any engine/transmission/air conditioning problems, but I've had to get suspension work (tie rods and swaybar links), brake work (new calipers, pads, and rotors), all the belt tensioners replaced, etc.
Fuel economy's averaged around 21.5 mpg since I've had it. I've actually broken 30 mpg a couple times on the highway (driving solo, not using the a/c, and driving fairly gently) but gotten as bad as 14-15 in local driving (cold/nasty weather, lots of stop-and-go, and I'm sure my 2.5 mile commute to work is a real mileage killer).
The Check Engine light came on a couple weeks ago, but went off on its own earlier this week. Hopefully it was just some short-term hiccup, and not a problem that's just waiting to rear its ugly head again!
Cool man, I thought you got it around this time of year.
I know how it is when the weather turns and the mpg's go down (and that winter blend doesn't help matters). My S10's mileage drop is right on schedule...
Again, since I saw you posted thought I'd ask here - that GM forum gets hectic (you, Lemko and OW keep it busy :P ) and I rarely get to post over there anymore. And when I do get the chance I'm +200 post behind :surprise: Maybe I'll catch up on of these days (don't let OW hear you CEL came on, more ammo)...
I misspoke - your 16 - 22 cent jump really qualifies for more than an "ouch". Something more like "holy cow Batman". Or worse, but tis the season. :shades:
That is strange. CA is usually on the leading edge of price hikes. Our Costco just dropped this week another 10 cents to $3.33. The cheapest diesel is $3.73, with Costco premium 18 cents over RUG.
topped off my '85 Silverado yesterday at the local crown, when I stopped in to get cigarettes. Prices were: 87: $3.199 89: $3.399 93: $3.499
With the truck getting old and a bit tired, it has an appetite for the higher octanes, although I can usually get by with 89. It's just that the 89 and 93 price is so close, I usually just go with 93. Sometimes, when it's at about a half tank, I'll put in 87.
...and a lot of that has to do with that loudmouth Ahmadinejad threatening to close the strait of Hormuz over economic sanctions the U.S. and Europe have against Iran. And somebody in another forum said this knucklehead wasn't dangerous.
Saw regular at the Sunoco at Longshore and Rising Sun in NE Philly up to $3.31 this morning, up 20 cents over the last two weeks. Ultra is $3.61!
Yeah, I just posted that. But we're up again, now to $3.59.
My wife drove her mom to the doc and shopping Tuesday and drove a hundred miles or so. I asked her if she happened to get gas since I knew the Subie was under a half tank. She didn't and the gas price bump happened the next morning.
Next time I drive the low fuel light will be coming on.
My Costco is also at $3.59 up from $3.43 last week. I filled last week at my local Shell for $3.61 and today I drove by and it was at $3.85. I can buy diesel now for $3.85. Diesel is under 4 bucks most places around here.
With the price of gas moving upward the old Garden State Parkway effect is coming in again I'm sure. The gas stations on the Parkway can only change prices once a wee - on Friday. The price is based on some state-wide formula.
Well, today the cheapest you can get RUG around town is $3.25. On the Parkway it's $3.19. Filled up there (Sunoco) today.
Last time we had a quick rise people would line up on the Parkway so that cars were out on the roadway in line for gas. A coworker's car got totaled in such a line when someone didn't notice the line there until it was too late. Not really cost efficient there....

Maybe it's related to the marina influence? Lots of lakes around here. All the snowmachiners just buy the usual stuff that I do. Can't justify driving a little extra to pay twenty cents more, even if the mpg got a pop.
How far from Manhattan are you anyway? Maybe one of these years we can swap houses for a few months. The gas may be ethanol free but you'd have to pump it yourself. :shades:

Any event, mileage has dropped a the typical couple mpg's the last few fill-ups due to the cold snaps we've had & winter-blend fuel.
Some places are $3.33 with others being $3.40. One BP somewhat near the tollway was $3.50.
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving holiday.

This past Saturday, on my way north, I spotted $2.99 at an Exxon on Rt 9 in Manalapan, NJ.

OLd faithful Sunoco holding at at $3.05.
I sure wouldn't want to be on a tanker out in the lake today.
Just the right time of year out on the lake....
Not on my list of occupations after I get back to work. For about half the year I'd love it......

(would've asked in the GM forum but I just can't keep up with it, work's been hella busy)

Crude was up a little today on North Korean news, but it's down $7 over the last few weeks or so per CNN.
That article says "The latest average gas price is 33 cents higher than it was a year ago."
I was thinking it's cheaper now than it's been in a long time. Short memories.
I'm hoping the price goes down when I need to fill-up again (currently at half-tank) or maybe your MIL can swing through NW Illinois :P
Happy holidays to all
87: $3.199
89: $3.399
93: $3.499

We jumped a dime or so. $3.15 at my Sunoco last I looked but likely up two more cents since everyone else is heading that way.

Ethanol free regular is $3.79.
Diesel is $3.89.
Cheapest I've seen it lately was $3.23 down near Detroit a week ago.
