14 footer will be a bear to handle for two guys. You may want to get a pair of stilts for both you and the helper and lay the drywall on a table so that you can lift it up mid way instead of the from the floor. The stilts will allow you to touch the ceiling easily and hold the drywall in place with one hand. You could screw in your section with the other hand using a drill gun.
As far as Ryan's Menards comments, HOME DEPOT all the way!!!!
I posted a while back about a diagram of lube points on the new silverados. Do the service manuals or Chilton's manuals have these?
Ray T.
Man, there is no telling what you can learn when you tune in here. I guess as long as you can put it in the back of the truck, its related right?
Drywall - There are 12' sheets too right? My wife and I did the whole inside of our triple garage with 10' ceiling last year with these. (only the walls though, the ceiling was already done for us). Those are tough enough for one and a half people to lug around...
For 14's I'd have 2 guys fetching them from Home depot to the truck...3 guys up the stairs and at least 3 putting them up? I figure they would stick out 5.5 feet beyond the tailgate when down in a short box....think this is too much to flap?...I'd have about 16 -14's and 8-12's at once for extra weight.
For install I'd get a jack for sure....and I'm not sure about the plaster route. I'm not even going to mud this job.
Any fool can drywall....but it takes a much different kind of fool to mud and make it look good.
- Tim
( maybe we can re-name this the Drywall and Music topic??)
For all who are pissed...it really upsets me that we have to do this to you....honestly...I am losing a lot of sleep here......I can't bear the thought of someone angry at me...
LOL
Joelis: "You ain't seen nothin yet ba ba ba baby"
We run the gammit with conversations here , all in good fun of course! & occasionally stray off the subject matter.
Ryan, Saw my first 99 or 00 with DRL out today, how do you tell them apart anyway? Personally I may pull both bulbs outta there. When I want lights on I would like to do it myself rather then having it dictated to me. They say in the manual to NOT get used to NOT activating the headlamp system at night, well every time I turn around the computer is turning them on anyway, what ever happened to CHOICE!
Are we back on subject matter now?????? LOL.
Ray T.
What did u mean tell them apart? A 99 and a 00 silverado? DOnt think anything is different
Ryan
first song in my new 'rado??? "like a rock" sorry, couldn't help it. had that cd for damn near 10 years now and just been dying to have a chevy to play it in.
by the way, nobody's mentioned the dead yet. can't forget jerry and the boys. and no, i don't have flowers painted on my truck, and no, i don't own a vw vanagon. free love, now...hmmm that's an idea with some merit.
as for the wood and drywall discussion, it's gonna be a year till i buy a house and join in on that one. but i did install my nerf bars myself! haha
kyle
This usually happens just as you are driving past an oncoming car and they think you are an idiot for flashing your lights at them or something.
When I first got the truck, this happened as I went by a cop. He turned around and followed me for a while to see if I had a problem.
Now you need to step up to an Extended Cab! It'll be an all around for family & work.
Ray T.
I already was thinking about the plywood idea. We will see if I get all 8's and have seams...or go with the big boys?
Ryan,
I've seena lot of DRLs out on the drivers since it was mentioned.
White6,
Nice truck.....needs a Bowtie though...
Sorry you don't think we are talking about trucks here...
Quad,
A 99 LS 2500 with high miles just sold here for $29K. depends on if your area has them or not? This area is starved for them.
Kyle,
sure...we welcome all kinds of guests here...
......maybe some dancing bears on the side of the truck??

HD also kills the little hole in the wall hardware stores....which bothers me in a way...cuz I try to help the little Joes....but some times you can't always stay with them...
Back to trucks.....we have yacked enough...
- Tim
To you people across the country who live in "normal" areas suitable for human habitation, don't think I'm whining for no reason. I live in SiliconGridlock Valley and spend more time idling than driving! This is why I also have the pleasure of 10mpg typical mileage.
I've considered changing tires... I hate those damn stock wilderness tires.. I would like bigger ones, but will 285's fit as far as clearance, and what about the speedometer and effect on gas mileage? (I have the 5.3L with 265's on it now)
Thanks,
mark
I agree back to trucks.
Ryan
Thanks
Gotta buy the accessories now while i can afford it today i have to go pick up half of my mudflaps they came in (front) so they dont sell them to anyone else.
Ryan
This is still an awesome truck (2000 Silverado, LT, Z71, 4dr). Have added the Westin CPS (chrome plated stainless, part number 26-1680) nerf bars, installed them myself in approximately 45 minutes. My wife held up rear end until I got the front bolt started on the bar.
You need a trip to the islands to learn how to "hang loose" and slow that pace down to absorb information. LOL

Go to www.truckautoaccessories.com/rd/ to get the right Lund part. They only handle new body style GM trucks so you can't go wrong. Everything Ray T. said is correct. No wind noise, can't even see it from the cab, so no reflections.
Larry
Does that work?
Thanks for the bug deflector info.
The husky mudguards for the fender flares look very nice very strong molded plastic. Now i have to wait to install them YES TIM im doing it. Only a few holes to drill
Ryan
at : http://www.accessconnect.com/
$53.95 instead of $59.95 at the other site
Ryan
Your gonna DRILL holes in your NEW truck??????? I found ways to mount those mud flaps I installed using the existing predrilled holes & no metal screws, plastic body panel one way push pins worked great, fit nice & snug in the holes.
Your taking an engineering course right??? INNOVATION is the key!
Post a copy of your purchase order??? nah, wait till you get the truck then post that!!!!!! ey! We'll even accept one of it sitting on the dealers lot while you wait for those funds to reach maturity to pay for it! LOL
Ray T.
I dont have a purchase order just a new vehicle worksheet and the printout of options i ordered (if you call that a PO thats it then), and receipt of deposit.
The salesman is going to send me pics of my truck when it comes in because the dealership is 2 and a half hrs away and im not driving just to see it till i buy it so he agreed to send me pics. I dont care if you guys believe me or not it only matters to ME.
HI MERIDETH i know your out there just thought id say hi. Join in sometime.
Ryan
I believe you....(kinda)
Since you're gonna put those tough flaps on....why not try the much easier nerf bars??
- Tim
It does bother me people dont believe me yes you dont have to believe me thats cool i mean how do i know you have a truck Tim i know u have shown pics but that could be your neighbors. Or what about bluebeast? How do we all know he really has a truck? I believe all you guys and have never once doubted that. Im not some kid messing around on the computer. I hope i made a very clear and valid point.
Ryan
The site you pointed out for $53.95 states that some drilling is required. Someone previously posted that they had purchased a Lund Interceptor that also required drilling and they were going to send it back. There may be more than 1 part number for the Y2K Silverado. All I can state is that I got the more expensive unit and it did not need drilling. Just pop in the five nylon inserts in the square holes in the hood and go. So beware and LOL.
Larry
Ryan
(Hmmm..I better check to see if My neighbor will loan me his Black 2500 again today??)
You say all that matters is you...and then go off the deep end right after.
Chill bro!
....I don't know if you would make it in person at the truck bash man.....you might stomp away and go off the cliff and then Quad will be responsible.......(it was to be at Quads place...remember?)
LOL
- Tim
Ryan
ryan, if you have to drill to put on the mud flaps, you're doing more work than you would for the nerf bars. i know you want to have everything put on when you get it, and that's fine. just thought i'd mention it. like ray said, it means more when YOU do it. i give mine an extra bounce each time i get in, just to prove that i did a good job.
god, i love this truck. on another note that nobody has talked about for awhile. i'm finally starting to see some tundras on the road. found it so hard to believe they were the MT truck o' the year and yet weren't selling. think i've seen about one-one-hundredth the number of tundras 'round here as i have 'rados. and no, i haven't seen any 'rados with drl's out yet. wow, sorry for the long post. see ya'll tomorrow.
kyle
hes got a truck...he doest... oh yea?well my dad can kick your dad.....etc etc. cmon, if he does or if he doesnt does it really matter? hes got some good information posted for all of yall and it really seems like there might be some real insecurities floating around in here.
cant you all just get along?
Ryan
LUND part #18063 (still had the box). Best looking bug guard out there. Sorry Bugflector owners....
Rob
I was wondering if anyone knows where to buy the best Tonneau cover.
Me
Ryan..(But had to wait until he was 21)
Quad
Roc
Andy Jordan
....and I can't remember who else??
Great idea...but nobody wants to do it I guess.....would help if we all lived in one state I guess?
I'd drive several states over..
We will just have to settle for this forum I guess....although around a campfire in person..with kegs on hand and a blazing fire...and a whole lotta BS floating around sounds cool too.
- Tim
What flaps are you getting and how much? I hope these aren't GM flaps that you need to drill to make fit.
I like the S.S. Putco flaps, but it looks like you need to cut the flaps to size, drill holes in them, and then bend them to fit the contour of the wheel well, all for about $90 a pair. What a deal!
Anybody find anything on Wheel Well liners yet?
rbrick-
Thanks a lot! I didn't even notice the rough idle until you pointed it out. Its no biggie, but now I know its there. (Does it still itch under that cast?) Sounds like all the 5.3s are doing it.
