2005- SVS light-electrical problems? LOTS of issues!

I'm hoping I can get some help concerning issues my car is having.
I've been to the pontiac dealer, as well as a private mechanic who specializes in electrical.
My problems started roughly 2 1/2 years ago.
My car died, battery went dead, jumped it.. ran ok for a few weeks then died again. Finaly I took the car to the mechanic who then told me I had a problem with the computer. I spent 500 on a new computer thinking ok, hope this helps.
Well... ever since the computer was changed my airbag light is on, cruise control doesnt work, and my radio is locked. The mechanic argued with me that the only thing he did was lock the radio, and I needed to see pontiac about setting the code.
Ok- from there, the car started normally for about 6 months, then died on me again.. I bought a new battery and took it to the dealer who looked it over and said, NOTHING was wrong.
Now, a year later the car just died tonight. No warning, was at the gas station with the kids and the car wouldnt start. The SVS light stayed on, could hear a click as if the car was trying to turn over, yet nothing. Also my "locked" radio started playing... *sighs* Though stopped once the car was jumped.
I had the car jumped, drove around for a while, yet again it wont start.
I'm not sure what to do from here. Buy another battery? spend thousands trying to find an electrical problem?
Im also wondering, are the headlights supposed to ALWAYS be on. I can't turn them off. Not in the day, nor night. I thought perhaps this might be the electrical problem since the SVS light has been on for about a year or so. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Comments
1. Have the battery and charging system checked.
2. Have the OBDII codes read since the SVS light is on - it may lead to some data that is helpful.
3. There's been reports of the connector for the "computer" getting corrosion inside. This COULD be a problem for you, most likely you'll need an electrical specialist (not a regular mechanic) which likely means a trip to a GM dealer for most people.
If the radio security code was never changed then it's still set to the factory code, so it shouldn't be hard to unlock (I don't know the factory code myself, if I remember right it's in the owners manual).
