Finding invoice price
I want to buy a CRV-EXL in the next month. I have read the board about how to negotiate but can't seem to get the invoice pricing for the Chicago area. I am also wondering what the best price for this vehicle would be before tax/title.
And what about Costco pricing...is it worth it.

Edmunds.com also has this story about car-buying services. The short version on services such as Costco's is that if you're looking for a very common car, you might be able to get a good deal. Seems that the CR-V falls into that category.

You can get the invoice and TMV for your area here on Edmunds. From the top of the page, select Make, Model, Year and input your zip code. Then select the style your interested in from the drop down.
As for Costco pricing, if no one chimes in here, you might want to take a look at this discussion Purchasing Programs (AAA, Costco, BJ's, etc.)
And don't get too hung up on invoice prices. Dealers can sell below invoice and still make money thanks to holdback. And there's all kinds of manufacturer's rebates and bonus programs that make the invoice price less meaningful than it used to be. (usatoday.com)
Your best bet is to try to meet or beat TMV. And check the various Prices Paid discussions on the forums here to get a feel for what others are paying. Or just go to the home page and get a Price Promise certificate.
