03 Jetta Transmision

I have a 2003 Jetta and recently had to have the starter replaced. Ever since then the transmission will not up-shift between gears until 4200 rpm, and wont down-shift until 1200 rpm. I was wonder if this was a coincidence in timing and someone might know why this is happening or if it is possible the repair shop may have had to move some linkage or something around to get to the starter. I don't know much about Volkswagen's, so any information would be helpful.

  • The starter doesn't have anything to do with it, but to replace the starter they have to disconnect the battery. If so, the car may have returned to it's stock transmission program.

You should go to the 1999 to 2003 VW Jetta board. You actually created your own blog and since there is only myself and your post, the community is ignoring it.
