1989 chevy 1500 pick up ignition problem
My key goes in the ignition cylinder turns forward and back. I turned it on the other day and something broke I went to turn the key back and it feels loss and the truck won't turn off I already changed the ignition cylinder and it wasn't it ...

From the description it could be that the rod linking the key cylinder at the top of the column to the actual ignition switch that's usually down lower in the dash and on top of the column may have come off or broken.
Or the actual ignition switch itself may have broken.
But the description of feeling loose suggest the rod has come off at one end or the other.
Item #12 that goes from the key cylinder #9 to the actual ignition switch that moves and makes electrical contacts #23 is the link
you should check on. Probably can only get to it where it goes into the ignition switch to see if it's loose.
