Very nice looking coupe. Very classy - well done MB.
The interior looks very nice but am I really the only one who thinks the exterior is over done and not at all attractive? The rear end, in particular, is really bad.
The rear looks VW, The front and side look Hyundaish. The interior looks strange to me, but then again I don't know what people who can afford it are looking for. Unfortunately it is lacking one thing that to my eye the Jaguar F Coupe has an abundance of....Class.
TRANSMISSION? The title says 9 speed then in the literature it says carry over 7...what is it???
it looks great, yes, but two complaints... the rear fenders are straight off the new vanquish, and the rear lights are ok on a buick, not a benz. i'll have the vintage 280se.
I think the greenhouse has too much of a passing resemblance to a huge Solara, but it is pretty amazing inside - 85% a Bentley for much less money, and a less gaudy image. Being a true hardtop is pretty cool too.
I find it hilarious that the article mentions the lack of a manual as a drawback. There hasn't been a manual in a V8 or large MB coupe since the final run W111 coupes, almost 45 years ago, and those are very rare. Hasn't been a manual available in an S-class for about 20 years, and was never available in the US. S-class = no manual. Fast MB = no manual. That's how it is.
I can't believe that this reviewer comments about the lack of a manual transmission in this 100+K luxury coupe. Hard core drivers? My god man you certainly do not understand the demographic that buys this car. As fintail points out these cars haven't had manuals for decades.
very well written, and I agree 100% about the Scoupe's competition. this is one sharp automobile
Majorly flawed reporting - the S-Coupe will NOT have a curve-tilting option because MB chose NOT to make an S-Coupe version available in the US that is equipped with the most advanced suspension system they have, the Magic Body Control suspension (which has been an option in the S-Sedan for 2014 already). Magic Body Control is, for the foreseeable future, only available in a rear-wheel-drive configuration and is being made available as an S-Coupe variant in early 2015 in Europe. And the Chinese of course get it, too. But the US? Nah!
