Pretty impressive. We're now living in the future.

I want to like it. I really do. But I just can't get with those folded-down bunny ears. They're not so bad in a dark color, as in BMWs youtube vids, but ugh. I actually really like the smooth, plastic-y look of the interior. Jump seats-cool. Jacknife doors-awesome. Fitted luggage-hells yes. Laser lights- keep um. But I agree, we are now living in the future.

I'm impressed that the car is so close to the concept. I would love to drive one.

Visually it's a bit busy for me with the multiple colors. Also, is it just me, or does it look a lot like a 2014 version of the 1990's Nissan 300ZX?

B@da$$. Gotta love innovation. Not as badass as the 918 spyder, but still badass. Your turn MB and Audi...

Plastic, dent resistant panels? you mean, like a Fiero?

I'm shocked (and pleased) that they kept the production car so close to the look of the concept. Ballsy move, and I hope it pays off for them.

I remember when BMW mocked Toyota over the first Prius. They had an array of technologies (I think even something to do with using compressed air as a torque assist) and said hybrids were not the solution.

Thank goodness they are on board pushing the proverbial envelope. The internal combustion engine is a tough act to follow. Everyone will have to contribute.

Why not spend 105K$ and get a Tesla S? Will outperform the i8 and is all electric with a 265 mile range and free charges at Tesla Charging Stations. With the supercharger pack the 85KWH battery can be recharged in under 2 hours. Just enough time for a leisurely meal and fresh up. Plus 30k$ in your pocket.

I have a Model S and my wife drives an X5. I like BMW's. Let me rephrase: I used to really like BMW's until I got my Model S.

I simply cannot understand why someone would pay over $30K more than the Model S for a car that's smaller, far less functional, less comfortable, more complex/prone to failure, no faster, and far less efficient.

The Model S is also a go anywhere car thanks to the growing network of superchargers. I have charged at the Hamilton NJ supercharger twice in the last two weeks, where I picked up over 200 miles of range in less than 45 minutes. Yes, 45 minutes is more than 5, and superchargers are not yet ubiquitous, but my refill was FREE, it was on my route home, and gave me time to get a quick bite to eat and get some work done.

Yes, for the person who wants real exclusivity or is really compelled by the looks, the BMW is your choice. For anyone else, it just doesn't make sense.
