    BOSE is mostly marketing.

    I wish more manufacturers setup a balanced stereo instead of pumping up the midbass and muddying everything.

    Kinda of a shortsighted view yellowbal. Every manufacturer has good and "bad" products. Bose is no different. The systems they put in Infiniti are quite good, but as Mr. McGrath states it takes a lot of effort to build a good-sounding, yet cost-effective system in a car.

    i have a Chrysler 300 w/Beats audio and i have the same complaint. i also only have the EQ adjustment and balance as pictured in the 'Vette. i wish the system had a way to adjust the subwoofer amplification like my wife's Acura's ELS system.

    i wonder what the power output is on this Bose system.

    Too much bass? Didn't think that was possible :). In terms of the placement, lower frequencies cannot be identified location-wise by your ears, so placement is about creating the desired amount of bass (more boomy in corners, etc).

    Also, in our Stingray we've observed that XM has seriously amped bass on all channels. Maybe mucking in the encoding or just terrible compression. Either way, it's wayyy too much bass in XM, but if I turn it down to a reasonable level, then all my other sources lose all their bass. I blame XM. Probably should have a per-source EQ setting.
