  1) I think it was slower then the AMG black version only slightly and that car has fixed the lose rear end. This was all on Topgear with the Stig.
  
  2) If you can afford 500k+ car does it matter if Merc allows you to order one in the USA? Nope, if you really want one and can afford it you can just tell your hot personal assistant to get it imported.

  $550k? You can get a SLS GT Roadster for $208k MSRP. Given the choose between this and a Model S, the Model S takes it hands down. The Model S has a longer range of up to 300mi compared with the SLS's range of 160 mi, and has 5+2 seating ompared with the 2 seats in the SLS. It doesn't have the mythical 155mph top speed of the SLS AMG Electric drive, the fastest P85 top speed only goes 130mph but you're never going to go 130 on a public road legally, but Model S would be more workable and useable in everyday life. Take the 400k+ you saved by buying the Tesla and buy the V8 SLS AMG and use it for having fun in the weekends, I'm sure the neighbour will still be drooling over that V8 bueaty
