  This is why I love that Toyota makes the Highlander AND the 4Runner. For those that don't need a truck frame under them, the Highlander is such a better option. In the same way, it is also nice to still have a more rugged SUV and 4WD for those that do need it. As the gear head of my friends and family (I imagine most on this site can relate), this is the first distinction I make to them when asked for advice on bigger vehicles. Sure, the image of that big, rugged, and powerful SUV is nice; but is it worth the increased cost, and decreased efficiency, comfort, onroad driving dynamics, and usually interior space if that ruggedness isn't needed. After thinking about it, most decide to look at more sensible options.

  I really like what Toyota has done to their CUV's as far as design and ergonomics.

  Dan, I am 6' 1" tall, longer in the leg than I am in the torso and I have the same issue with driving position. My company car is a Venza and because the steering wheel does not extend further, I can't get a comfortable seating position. After two years of this car, I am in physical therapy to relieve my persistent neck, shoulder, and middle back pain. I will never have another Toyota.
